Big week for Bill Simmons nonbelievers as he went 0-5 last week meaning we went 5-0. It was looking dire after Week 1, started off in a big hole and even had people fading my fades. Never did I think we'd be back in the black after Week 4. This week Bill is trying to make his money back with some Fanduel sponsored parlays. Take note fellas, there's a reason Fanduel wants people to bet parlays. This week, if Bill is betting $20 on a 2 leg parlay, I'll be betting $10 on each leg individually. The parlay last week paid off but they're not a good idea in the long run. Also not a good idea is anchoring your parlays on one team. Bill has put Lions moneyline into both of his parlays. Imagine relying on the Detroit Lions for a win.
Week 4
Me: +$92.63
Bill: -$1,000,000.00
Season Total
Me: +$37.88
Bill: -$1,070,000.00
Week 5
$30 - Bengals (-3) @ Cardinals
$30 - 49ers @ Cowboys (+3.5)
$20 - Panthers (+10) @ Lions, Jets @ Broncos (-2.5)
$20 - Panthers (+10) @ Lions, Patriots/Saints (OVER -31.5, -400), Saints @ Patriots (+1)
Note on first parlay: Bill bet on Lions ML (-490) and Jets alt spread (-2.5). I decided I'd instead do two $10 bets on the natural spread of those games.
Note on second parlay: Put $6.67 on each of the 3 legs of the parlay. Bill took the alternate spread of UNDER 47.5 for the Pats game which was -380 so I took the closest to those odds on the other side of the line. He also took the Saints moneyline, I'm not sure why he bought the 1 point. Maybe he's cheating on spreads here like he does on Guess the Lines? This is a Fanduel profit boost parlay. If you want to bet on Bill's side, FD has increased the payout if it hits. Good luck with that.
