I’ve written a lot of python and JavaScript. Yes, with doc types and type annotations/mypy, but never in a codebase that used it thoroughly.
I want to expand my knowledge and I think typed languages might be a good next step.
Is Go a good typed language when coming from python? By which I mean, is there an overlap in use cases between the two and is the step between the two big enough to be worth it but not so big that it’s a pain? For what it’s worth I have no CS degree so things like memory management in rust/cpp seem like a step too far right now.
