If you're not reading the same bible as the first Christians in 144 A.D. you're reading just another book. The Very First Bible is not only the foundation of faith that virtually every denomination traces its canonical roots back to - it's also the only place you'll find the gospel preached by Paul the Apostle.

Smashwords End of Year Sale

Smashwords is holding their end of year sale from today, Dec 15th, to Jan 1. Since the site can be a bit tricky to navigate, here are some links for genres relevant to the sub (MM romances can appear in any of these):

Gay romance

Gay erotica

Gay fiction

And here is a non-exhaustive list of authors with deals and freebies included in the sale:

Adara Wolf, AE Lister, Amy Spector, Anna Wineheart, Avril Ashton, C.S. Poe, Cari Z, Chara Croft, Charlie Cochrane, Cordelia Kingsbridge, Fearne Hill, Gregory Ashe, Hannah Morse, Hollis Shiloh, Holly Day, JL Merrow, J.M. Snyder, Jordan L. Hawke, Josh Lanyon, K.L. Noone, Kaje Harper, Kate Sherwood, L.A. Witt, Leighton Greene, Lia Cooper, Lisa Oliver, Lyn Gala, M.A. Innes, Megan Derr, Meraki P. Dark, Meraki P. Lyhne, Nell Iris, Odessa Hywell, Ofelia Grรคnd, R. Cooper, R. Phoenix, RJ Scott, S.C. Wynne, Sebastian Nothwell, T.M. Chris, Yolanda Kleinn, and more!

I have noticed that there are sometimes a few books in the 50% and 75% off categories that are actually free, so keep an eye out for those. And you may want to adjust your filter settings in the menu bar to make sure that you are showing the right level of explicit material, or certain authors and books won't show up.

Hope you find some good deals!

Smashwords is starting their annual Summer/Winter sale today, which lasts until July 31. Here are some direct links to the sale for genres relevant to the sub:

Gay romance

Gay erotica

Gay fiction

Sometimes books get added to the sale later so remember to check back in at the end of the month if there's something you're interested in that isn't on sale yet. Also, remember to check your filter settings in the menu bar to make sure that you are showing the right level of explicit material, otherwise certain authors and books won't show up.

For those of you who have been wanting to read more Sebastian Nothwell books after his AMA, you can find several of his books at 50% off during the sale.

Feel free to share more recommendations and good deals that you find in the comments!

I've gotten a bunch of PMs asking for specifics, so here they are. I have roughly 80 books, not a few of which are collections of the original stories. The numbers aren't 100% accurate because some sales come in from countries outside of normal Amazon channels and the percentages are far less. But this is reasonably accurate, within probably $500.

The numbers represent sales starting from the 1st of November. I don't count Smashwords because sales there are slow. They only pay once a quarter so anything I get from them is a pleasant surprise.

Also, I'd like to point out October 1st was the first time I broke $300 in one day.

This happens fast, people.

No, I'm not going to link any of my books. You can choose to believe it or not but I've also been working with and Skype-ing with a few of you and gone over my books and theirs. If any mod wants proof, I'll be glad to provide it.

The point is, in March I made ZERO from self-published books. I had no contacts, no idea how to do this, no back-catalog of books, no stories sitting in the hopper. This whole thing has exploded on me and while I'm having a bit of difficulty processing it all, I'm also jumping like a madman. I expect to be making $50k a month by the end of February and 100k a month by the end of the summer.

I know it sounds stupid but my "stretch-goal" for the end of December was 28k and I beat it by nearly 1k a month early.

Anyway, hope this is useful. From what I can tell, I'm not doing anything special, it's just that I'm putting out stories that are simple and easy to read, with clear titles, basic covers, bright colors and added good keywords.

I'm thinking of writing up a guide on exactly how it's done, but I want to test a couple more genres first, just to make sure I can make lightning strike three times.

Anyway, here are November's numbers:

$782.24

$762.48

$788.90

$845.35

$1,006.22

$1,083.99

$808.26

$817.54

$947.33

$906.20

$917.98

$1,034.60

$1,069.39

$921.01

$965.77

$966.11

$952.34

$958.97

$1,142.25

$1,177.01

$933.69

$880.34

$807.40

$896.06

$950.72

$1,236.85

$1,230.67

$1,038.22

$1,060.69

$901.42

If you've made it to the bottom of this and have:

  1. At least 6 stories in a specific genre

  2. Skype

  3. Are willing to take harsh criticism and work with me

Then PM me. I'll help you sell your books. I think I have the model down pretty well for Amazon and want us all to make tons of money. Free of charge, of course. I'm not interested in making money off of you. I'm not going to do the work for you, but I'll point you in the right direction.
