Know someone who got laser armpit therapy or whatever so they wouldn't sweat or grow hair anymore. Isn't that basically this? Said his armpits were swollen for a few days and now just... no hair/no sweat armpits.

We're really lucky that birds communicating with each other sounds so nice. by Shambles299 in Showerthoughts

Maybe humans just selected over time for people who liked or at least didn't mind the bird sounds. The ones who couldn't take it all killed themselves.

I think the trick is to remember that as the relationship goes on, this can ebb and flow. My girlfriend and I share chores in a fairly organic way, there is stuff she is inclined to do and I have things I tend to do, but sometimes one of us falls off a bit (I mean for more than a day or two, more of a mini-era), and I think there can be a moment of feeling frustrated about it but if you take a pulled back view of it all you realize that people just go through life in waves, and it's important to be supportive but also not let someone fall completely off the track if it seems like they just stop caring.

I was one of these people, stoned out of my mind, and I can confirm there was a big ol' WTF.

Potentially one of my favorite of all time videos. I watch it every few months.

It bothers me when fantasy and historical fiction authors have no sense of geographic scale when it comes to travel times by justhereforthegames in books

And to be fair, it absolutely was lazy writing. I was inebriated writing that shit last night. But I still posit that there is a theory of time where it just all exists at the same time, nothing can be changed, we have no free will, etc. In this case, you are where you are and can never be anywhere else, and thus position/location is one thing amongst all the things that don't need to be considered.

Except it has all already happened, and you were where you were, and you weren't dead in space (unless that's how you die), so you were in the right spot while you were alive.

No need to worry about position.

I think it's creepy and beautiful and complicated in a way only a science fiction book can be. If this was based in reality, not great, but when he's being uncontrollably bounded through time, it brings up interesting ideas about choice.

But yes, absolutely some creepy elements.

I recently watched Merlin and now I can't stop imagining Arthur (Bradley James) as Adolin by megthegreatone in Stormlight_Archive

As a white person, I understand that it just happens naturally to see main characters from our frame of reference, which for many of us happens to be a main cast consisting of white people.

It's ok to work through some of the mental shortcuts our brains tend to take. Life is hard.

Uh.... isn't Adolin of a like, middle-eastern complexion and he stands out cause of his blonde hair he got from his mom?

This guy in the picture sure seems pretty.... white?
