It's yours to do with as you will, but I will say that in 7 or so years of OLD I haven't once been flaked on once a first date has been set, and I've never been stood up or ghosted at that point. Meeting someone for the first time is not easy and most people don't look forward to the anxiety it brings and will often subconsciously look for reasons to avoid it. Women especially because they also have to deal with the safety risk that comes with meeting strange men.

Yeah man I never just say "let's meet up". It's always "I'm free this Sunday afternoon if you want to meet up for a coffee or drink." Name a time and an activity, preferably a coffee/tea (unless you know they drink).

You'll also find people are very unlikely to flake if you make the date on a weekend afternoon. People have plans in the evening and an afternoon date is easy, non-threatening, and a bad one doesn't ruin the whole evening. If your plan doesn't work for her, she WILL offer a concrete alternative if she is interested. If she doesn't respond with "I can't do Sunday afternoon, but how about Friday evening?" or something in that vein, you can safely assume she's not interested. Also, be prepared to travel to her area. Suggest a location near where she lives and you instantly make her feel safer and more in control.

I'm sorry this happened to you, it sucks and it's definitely happened to most if not all of us at some point.

I'm going to be blunt though: if she were as interested as you, you would have gotten that date. People will make time in their schedule to make it happen and will hold off on "moving forward" with someone else if they genuinely think there was a connection. The lesson here is not "move faster because women are selling like hot cakes".

I'd love to see the conversation text from the day before she went quiet. Also what kind of date were you planning? Making bad date-planning choices can easily push a woman into the cancel zone.

I'm 5'6" and I do fine. I rarely date girls taller than me, but plenty in the 5'4-5'6 range. It isn't as big a deal once you hit your 30s, especially if you're employed and can hold a good conversation.

Exercise will absolutely supercharge the weight loss and make you look a lot better, but counting calories is the most effective way to lose weight quickly. Find out your approximate basal metabolic rate using a calculator like this one and commit to not eating more calories in a day than that number. Your basal rate is essentially the number of calories you naturally burn. You can eat whatever you want so long as you don't go over that number and you will watch the pounds slide off you.
