Our hair looks pretty similar. I really like the Jessicurl line. It’s light weight and never leaves my hair feeling producty like the LA looks can. The Too Shea conditioner and spiralicious gel are great and the confident coils or gelebration spray are both great enhancers under the gel depending on glycerin/non-glycerin. You can order mini 2oz bottles or get free sample packets if you’re interested in trying it out.

I find spray refreshes give me the most curl enhancement—my favs are Carol’s daughter Cactus Rosewater volumizing hair spray (no glycerin) or the Jessicurl Gelebration Spray and Awe Inspiraling Spray (glycerin). I prefer the Cake and Curl Talk mousses to the herbal essences.

This is awesome thank you! I’m hoping to try the Cake mousse soon. I was debating about Jessicurl too, I’ve heard great things about the line.

Looks 2A to me! The waves and floof say you’ve got more than just “straight hair” going on. I’d try:

  • detangling/brushing in the shower after you condition but before you rinse it out. Do this instead of brushing it while it’s dry.

  • squish to condish (a way of rinsing/squishing the conditioner out of your hair that simultaneously helps waves to form). YouTube this, it’s easier shown than described!

  • letting it COMPLETELY dry before touching it again

  • diffusing, if you blow dry.

I know exactly where you're coming from and couldn't agree more. I think it's on purpose, but either way I could never feel so fed up with a character if they weren't so well written.

Yes! It’s extremely well done. I know one of the main draws of writing in first person is that you can more easily keep information from the reader, and Fitz sure allows Robin Hobb to keep info from us! But it’s so frustrating!

Hahaha I gotta say… I’ve never read a more realistic teenager 💀💀💀

Just stupid decisions and the inability to process your own emotions OR think critically, all the way down.

I know! It’s very realistic and I LOVE a legitimately flawed protagonist. I dislike this trend of “perfect main character except one superficial flaw/inability to fit into dystopian society’s weird boxes”. It’s just SO FRUSTRATING to watch him go “oh no my mortal enemy is over there. Better stay safely over here while my wolf kills him. ~30 seconds later~ I’M BORED let’s go check it out.”

I was working on reactivity and ended up training her to sit when she sees another dog. Now, that's not bad as she doesn't get all wound up and will just sit quietly and watch the other dog, but she does NOT want to move once her butt hits the ground.

Edit; I've taken to calling her Consuela when she does it. "No, no, I sit here..."

Oh my god, I’m a dog walker and a client did this. Unfortunately we spend a lot of time with his butt planted in the middle of the crosswalk because he can see another dog waaaaaay down the street haha

My youngest dog likes to slam her nose into people's hands. I taught her to do that to me when she was unable to control her urge to bark at a dog.

But she enjoys it so she tries it out on humans she meets. It would be cute except she really wants to do it to judges so...

Mine is absolutely convinced that every person in the world has treats for him. So now he sticks his nose into the hands of random passersby, just to check.
