Why does no one want to teach French?

blastoffbro
commented

I started in french but im I/S so its easier to switch out from it if youre not feeling it. For me its all about student motivation: too many kids taking grade 9 core french cause they have to hurts your soul after a while. Its also not so much about no one wanting to but that there just arent enough anglophones who can teach it....

Working at a boarding school

Ive done it but left after a year to go back to public. Public allows for a better worklife balance and so thats what won me back.

As many stated class sizes are smaller in private with generally better behaviour since schools can be selective. Youd be expected to do cocurriculars and the pay is typically lower but I found there were more opportunities for advancement which would bump your pay plus they usually have deeper PD pockets and travel opportunities.

Nobodys mentioned this yet but I actually found admin in private were by far more competent than those Ive worked with in public.
