It could be a bad subfloor and this popped-up, in-row failures. This could be just above a beam in the floor which is raising these boards and or installed over the hump and then start to fail when traffic walks over it.

Even with engineered boards gaping can be tight since the boards are built almost like plywood and will explain in all directions. This looks too bad for just a expanding engineered flooring.

Yeah that's correct. I knew they deaged the actors but thought it would be a few years or so not 30-40 years! The stomping scene was also real bad as it looked like an 80 yo moving. DeNiro was in that tight stiff leather jacket with what must have been a board jammed up his back... I wish they just used younger actors for those flashback like... you know all their other classic older movies! Like De Niro playing a young Vito Corleone not some deaged Brando... Don't want to sound like a downer but if they are sold out and you have no plan it will be near impossible to get a walkup permit. Rangers will not just look for open sites without an idea where you want to go since some sites are deep in and more than a days hike. This is a very busy time for the park. Ranger's and the staff hate when people come in without a plan and ask, 'so what's available?'.... ummm we have hundreds of sites and thousands of miles of trail...

Just plan on doing day hikes.

Good luck finding campsites this late. A few years ago we tried to drop by and do some backpacking but all campsites where reserved or too close to the fires. We ended up doing the highline train but had to hike out and back since the road below where the shuttles where was closed due to fire, Turned into a 23 mile hike!
