I have had a personal encounter with Keanu Reeves, he is absolutely a genuine regular guy, he will not allow himself above others. He was at my place of work. He had been working on a project for a while and blended in with the employees, was kind and thoughtful and humble. He asked for nothing while there and waited for coffee with the rest of us. Just very kind to everyone. Truly a good person, one of the best celebrity I have ever encountered in my life.

Another class act is Greg Kinnear. What a pleasant humble wonderful person as well. I volunteered with him on Habitat for Humanity. Kind and gracious.

[–][deleted] 1008 points1009 points  (57 children)

The funny thing is most of Kinnear's roles have him playing a somewhat pretentious character. 😂

[–]FancyAdult 438 points439 points  (41 children)

Haha yeah. But he’s the best. Seriously a wonderful human.

[–]Block_Me_Amadeus 180 points181 points  (6 children)

I'm so glad to hear that. He's in one of my very favorite movies (as good as it gets), and it's nice to know he's legit.

[–]cookiemonsieur 66 points67 points  (1 child)

You wanna know why the dog prefers me? ... I keep bacon in my pocket

[–]Block_Me_Amadeus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think of Verdell every time I drop the trash down a chute. 😬

[–]Downtownd00d 17 points18 points  (2 children)

I LOVE that film! Stellar cast, including Greg.

[–]tripl35oul 39 points40 points  (2 children)

Ok, but can he spell Mboscodictiosaur?

[–]poretabletti 21 points22 points  (0 children)

WRONG, the M is silent!

[–]Milla179 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I love this

[–]HolyForkingBrit 27 points28 points  (30 children)

I think Michael Keaton is pretty damn good guy too.

So Keanu Reeves, Greg Kinnear, and Michael Keaton are all really great men. Who else we got?

[–]RunninOnMT 46 points47 points  (6 children)

RIP, but Anthony Bordain stayed at a hotel I worked at as a young man. He was very kind to all the staff.

A lot of "food celebrities" would stay there, Alton Brown also stuck out as being incredibly kind to everyone.

[–]TK-CL1PPY 20 points21 points  (4 children)

When I need to cook something new, I check to see if Alton did it. Then I follow his instructions to the letter.

[–]ElectroshockGamer 5 points6 points  (3 children)

It seems like all the chefs that come off as harsh or troll-ish on the big screen always end up being to nicest (Alton Brown and Gordon Ramsay, for instance. Alton's trolling is basically confined to Cutthroat Kitchen and Gordon is only really harsh when he feels like he needs to be)

[–]lunasteppenwolf 20 points21 points  (2 children)

Dolly Parton 💛

[–]SmokyJett 13 points14 points  (1 child)

Dolly is an absolute gem. My family used to get season passes to her theme park, Dollywood every year for like 15+ years. We had multiple interactions with Dolly over the years of going there and every single time was just as amazing as the last.

She has a way of making you feel like the most important person in the world whenever she’s talking to you and she seems to just genuinely love everyone.

[–]auntiemaury 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I'm told Charles Barkley. My ex and I used to work at Mohegan Sun casino, in the cage (tellers/banks). He was a supervisor, and he came to check off on a large transaction, and it was Charles Barkley. It's usually a simple thing, he verifies the amount of chips and the money being paid out. But Barkley made a point to look at his name tag, and shake his hand and use his name. Very small interaction, but it was clear that he works hard to make others feel important. I know nothing about basketball, can't even tell you what team he played for (rip my notifications), but I'll always tell this story if he's mentioned

[–][deleted] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Brenden Fraiserw

[–]Schrodingers_Dude 17 points18 points  (0 children)

My dad was working security at a film set one time and he said Michael Keaton talked with him for a good while about hockey, super cool dude. Said he was a Penguins fan though and that this was a major character flaw.

[–]AccessDeniedTryAgain 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Years ago, my dad was at a hotel in Las Vegas. He went down to the bar one evening and André the Giant was there. He said they sat for hours, just chilling and talking. He said he was genuinely the nicest human being.

[–]wpaed 21 points22 points  (5 children)

I know he did some shit things in his youth, but my personal experience with Mark Wahlberg showed him to be a pretty damn good guy as well. My coworker and I chatted with him for about 20 minutes on our lunch break, I didn't even know who he was until afterwards when my coworker informed me (I can be fairly oblivious about celebrities).

[–]HolyForkingBrit 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Someone else said Tom Hanks. Dude is a wholesome legend.

I thought of Morgan Freeman after I posted the comment. Seems like a great human too.

Also, yay for getting to meet Mark Whalberg!! How cool!! Makes some great movies.

[–]FancyAdult 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, I bet michael Keaton is a decent person. I’ve actually never heard anything and about him!

[–]shawnster0 12 points13 points  (5 children)

Tom Hanks

[–]lawnmowersarealive 13 points14 points  (2 children)

Mboscodictiosaur

Tom Hanks was in my dream last night and he was being a total whiny bitch. We threw him in the water with Wilson just to get away from him.

[–]KimiKatastrophe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe not quite the same caliber, but Chris Jericho is very kind, gracious, and funny in person.

[–]Mayros_Nipple 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Like Johnny silver hand starts that way but I like how by the end of the game he knows he fucked up and with an optional scene you can actually give him some sort of redemption in who he is.

[–][deleted] 23 points24 points  (4 children)

“A hot dog is singing. You need quiet while a hotdog is singing?!”

[–]faithmauk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

except Greg Catnear, the unassuming and nervous cat in Cats!

[–]Max-Potato2017 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Interesting, I guess that goes to show how being typecast in movies guides your perspective on how you want to be in real life.

[–]fuschia_taco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He was in the last season of You, and I absolutely loved to loathe his character. Greg Kinnear is amazing.

[–]ShadooTH 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s always the people playing assholes who end up being really nice in reality, isn’t it?

[–]Schrodingers_Dude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even in amateur filmmaking I've noticed that villain actors are always the nicest dudes lol. Like the more spooky the villain, the more chill the actor probably is. Especially with the overpowered, haughty, pretentious style villain. Your evil mega corporation CEOs and vampire lords are the best.

[–]Lostbrother 142 points143 points  (5 children)

Honestly, it sounds like Keanu isn't just a regular guy level of kindness but something else altogether. I wonder if he hadn't gone into acting, if his chosen profession would have been something humanitarian related.

[–]MaestroPendejo 57 points58 points  (4 children)

I'll leave what my buddy Monroe thought of him when I lived in Charlotte, NC. "This n***a is the real white Jesus and ain't nobody know it." 20 years later and he still has a Polaroid of him smiling ear to ear with Keanu next to Keanu's rental Camry.

Edit: OH MY GOD I fucked this up. Autocorrect or something failed me. "when I lived in" got corrected to "when he died in." Holy shit.

[–]LetsWalkTheDog 8 points9 points  (1 child)

Sorry your buddy passed. What’s the cool story of the Polaroid of him and Keanu? It must have been great to save a moment like that for 20 years!!

Also did you know that Keanu is Asian? His dad is Asian and his mom is English. He’s pretty active in the Asian community and did an awesome netflix movie Always Be My Maybe.

[–]MaestroPendejo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes. I did. My friend thought he was white. But that was pretty common back in '02. I'm not sure what he was doing in down, but my friend I worked with had a son closer to my age I was sort of mentoring at the time, he was working as a valet at a restaurant in Charlotte, NC.

He parked his rental for him. My buddy had realized who he was and called me. He was a big fan of The Matrix but wanted to know more of his work. I told him a bunch of movies he had done and I said I was really happy with A Walk in the Clouds.

When Keanu came back out, another guy grabbed the car and my buddy talked to Keanu about his movies and mentioned A Walk in the Clouds. Keanu excitedly said "MY MAN!" Gave him a high five and asked if he had a camera. The restaurant obliged as they had one they just used to take a picture of him to put on the wall.

He was a good guy. I wish I had done better mentoring him.

[–]InvestigatorLanky370 116 points117 points  (16 children)

According to recent studies, extreme variants of kindness and evil could very well be genetic, its not really something you could "learn" from nurture.

Keanu was born to be good.

We must take his genes and infect everyone with it, use the COVID virus, call it the "Kindness lab leak" theory. lol

[–]BabyLegsDeadpool 86 points87 points  (5 children)

My wife would happily accept Keanu's genes.

[–]CliffDisgusting 51 points52 points  (1 child)

I would happily accept Keanu's genes in my wife

[–]BabyLegsDeadpool 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Same. For my wife, I mean. But also yours, I guess.

[–]throwngamelastminute 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Heyyoooo!

[–]Milla179 22 points23 points  (2 children)

I am happy to know Greg Kinnear is a kind soul cause he always plays a pretentous douche hahah

[–]FancyAdult 14 points15 points  (1 child)

I know, when I met him I expected him to be a jerk because my mind already had some idea. Even though I know it’s fiction. I was pleasantly surprised. He was funny and chipper for so early in the morning, happily helping with his hammer pounding nails into this house frame. We all signed our names on the wood frame and he wrote some cute little saying. I can’t remember what it was but it was funny.

[–]badson100 14 points15 points  (1 child)

He will always be my favorite Talk Soup host. He would crack me up with how he looked at the camera after a really stupid clip.

[–]OhioPolitiTHIC 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh my god, I haven't thought about Talk Soup in years. Loved that show.

[–]Space-Grouchy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

All famous people are just regular people that are very good at their jobs or have uncommon jobs and I hope more people treat them as regular people since some of them just want that treatment

[–]LaForge_Maneuver 11 points12 points  (0 children)

About 30 years ago, I can't believe it's been that long. Keanu was with some guy, and they were returning a rental car. I have no idea why they were renting a car or anything, but he was super nice. Now he wasn't a huge star then (this was before speed) but I remembered him from Bill and Ted's excellent adventure and I said "who was Jon of Arc" and he just said in Ted's voice "Noah's Wife". It was so awesome.

[–]Impossible-Ghost 10 points11 points  (2 children)

I’ve only seen two movies with him in it, the first John Wick ( which I admit wasn’t my thing, but I enjoyed his personal performance so that prevented me from turning it off too soon), and The Matrix, I may have seen other movies but when he comes to mind those are the only films I remember. Regardless of my lack of knowledge of his full filmography I am a personal fan of him as an individual because I’ve watched every interview with him in it that crosses my YT feed simply because it’s just fantastic to hear him talk. I WILL watch the rest of the matrix movies even if it takes the rest of my life to do it ( I’m really bad at finishing movie series’ that I start but for some reason good at keeping up with shows🤷🏻‍♂️😂).

[–]OhioPolitiTHIC 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Please oh please watch him in Constantine. It's genuinely a great performance by him and the whole movie is really good.

[–]LoreKeeperOfGwer 1060 points1061 points  (20 children)

I dont think hes human. Humans arent as nice as he is. Had a great conversation with him at an airport when i was in my early teens flying alone. We talked anime and comics. I was a 14 yr old fat, goth, autistic kid and he made me feel like i was normal

Edit: i dont remember much, but it started when he complimented my X-Men TAS backpack.

[–]tommyknockerZ33 316 points317 points  (6 children)

When I was 14 he signed an autograph for me that my sister asked for because I was too shy. He had a huge stack of CDs in his hands (at the old now gone Tower Records in LA). He signed with one hand & wrote “Party On Dude!”. Good to know he’s out there making kids feel better about themselves. A treasure of a soul. <3

[–]thatguyned 143 points144 points  (3 children)

There are reasons he's so kind and generous to children and families but they are a little too sad of a topic for this thread.

He deserves all the love and happiness he can get in life and he's still just choosing to radiate it outwards.

He's the model human

[–]robinunlikelihood 2 points3 points  (1 child)

That’s a great story. Btw I’m also curious about this - what CD did he sign on?

[–]harsha29o7[S] 158 points159 points  (1 child)

Dude this is awesome! Thank you for sharing..

[–]Coral_Grimes28 16 points17 points  (2 children)

He’s not, he’s actually Klaatu, an extraterrestrial being sent to decide the fate of the human race in the guise of a human by way of advanced technology.

[–]Immediate_Raccoon_40 973 points974 points  (18 children)

He’s one of the most genuine and down to earth celebrities out there. Everyone always says how he’s the nicest guy and I have to agree. Dude is an amazing actor and an even better person.

[–]GiddySoccer 131 points132 points  (2 children)

We need to protect him at any cost. Because of him I still believes on humanity now.

[–]Mental-Astronaut-664 2457 points2458 points  (59 children)

The only actor qualified to carry on with Mr. Rogers neighborhood.

[–]Wyldling_42 956 points957 points  (30 children)

Not an actor tho, he is the example to us that Mr. Rogers told us all to be for all those years. He gets to be one in the public eye.

I’m not saying that he is doing that because of Mr. Rogers, just to make that clear. Just saying he’s the kind of human that Mr. Rogers told us all to be.

[–]Grundolph 43 points44 points  (11 children)

Jack black is up there too

[–]chickamonga 13 points14 points  (10 children)

I feel like Dave Grohl is right there. They should form a band.

[–]bloodbath500 7 points8 points  (5 children)

If you haven’t heard it, check out Probot. Dave’s side band for a little bit. Always had different people singing. Lemmy and Jack Black both sing on the album on Spotify. And I’m always shocked when I tell people about them and they’ve never heard of them before.

I am the Warlock is fantastic!!!

[–]chickamonga 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'll check it out!

[–]WobblyPhalanges 2 points3 points  (3 children)

Thank you for this, added to my rotation 🙌❤️🤘

[–]Mehitabel9 6 points7 points  (2 children)

Back in the mid-90s, in Seattle, I was spending the afternoon with a friend of my mother's. We were standing in her kitchen looking out the front window and Dave Grohl walked by. I was gobsmacked and said "Do you know who that is?" She said "Oh yes, that's David. He lives up the street. He's just the nicest young man." She had no idea who he was other than that he was a nice young man who lived on her block.

[–]geriatric-sanatore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Before they got stupid big but were on that cusp (nevermind had just dropped) my mother in law was eating in a cafe and Dave walked in and sat at a table next to her. She said she thought he looked like a band person so she politely asked him if he knew any bands her son might be interested in because she wanted to buy him some records. She said he was the nicest young man and asked what kind of music and yadda yadda and he suggested a couple bands and in the end she finally asked if he was in a band and he said yes ma'am I'm the drummer for a band called nirvana and my mother in law said oh that's nice I hope you guys make it. She came home and told my brother in law and he flipped out and was yelling "do you have any idea who you just had lunch with?!"

[–]Certain-Ad-3840 34 points35 points  (2 children)

Never meet your Heros… unless your hero is Keanu Reeves

[–]A--Creative-Username 28 points29 points  (3 children)

Bob Ross and Dick Proenneke

[–]Tricky_Invite8680 12 points13 points  (1 child)

he's in talks. but it's like Man on Fire/Taken. Mrs McFeely got kidnapped and the story takes him to such places as Tokyo and Bucharest as Mr Roger's applies kindness and compassion to weave his way through a human trafficking ring

[–]KakkaKarrot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

'Kindness and compassion' in this case being a 2011 STI and Glock race guns, respectively

[–]littlebigman9 428 points429 points  (5 children)

He’s a class act. One of the best.

[–]TheLeafyStamina 46 points47 points  (4 children)

Keanu is always my favorite actor of all time.

[–]harbjnger 760 points761 points  (24 children)

I’m 20 weeks pregnant and I’ve been crying about how happy this woman must’ve been for like 5 minutes now. My hormones are not ready for Keanu stories, lol.

[–]Vagabond-Wayward-Son 244 points245 points  (8 children)

Then this will help

[–]harbjnger 192 points193 points  (1 child)

OH NO THIS IS ADORABLE

[–]quadraticfunk 61 points62 points  (0 children)

Hey, not just you. Watching my baby on the monitor and tearing up over this.

[–]FlashMcSuave 84 points85 points  (3 children)

Well that just exploded my brovaries.

[–]TheMarionberry 30 points31 points  (2 children)

brovaries

and yet another word I'm never forgetting

[–]LLC_Rulez 8 points9 points  (1 child)

You say, never thinking of it again

[–]TheMarionberry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

and yet here we are, me and you and u/FlashMcSuave's brovaries

[–]moosewhippets 6 points7 points  (0 children)

God, I need to be more like Keanu. We all do.

[–]psppsppsppspinfinty 37 points38 points  (8 children)

I wasn't bad with my first child. My second? I'd start sobbing just telling my bf I loved him. Oof the hormones!! Many blessings to you!

[–]Mrredseed 14 points15 points  (7 children)

Those days just thinking about someone I love makes me tear up... And I'm a man, so not pregnant... Is there something wrong with my hormones? I'm geniunely concerned now

[–]radioborderland 23 points24 points  (1 child)

While hormonal changes can drive changes in behavior there are lots of other potential causes. You might have gone through a transformational experience, or you might just be more in touch with your emotions these days. I wouldn't be concerned unless you are also experiencing clear indications of ill health.

[–]moosewhippets 8 points9 points  (3 children)

Bro, I'm a giant softie too. I still can't watch the Land Before Time bc I'll start sobbing at that one part (you know the part).

Shit, I don't even need something that dramatic. I'll start choking up at the end of the Proposal - both when Sandra confesses to everyone at the wedding, and again at the office when she starts tearing up when he starts confessing his feelings.

[–]Yoyomajumbo 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Aww sheeit, I'm a guy but after reading your comment I feel like I'm a 20 weeks pregnant woman who has been crying for 5 minutes.

[–]PlaneShenaniganz 8 points9 points  (1 child)

Wishing you a happy and safe pregnancy and motherhood 🙃

[–]RANZAROT 159 points160 points  (8 children)

Keanu for Prime Minister!

[–]therealdeathangel22 40 points41 points  (4 children)

I really hadn't thought about this but I think you might be the only celebrity that I would actually support getting into politics

[–]Purpleshlurpy 16 points17 points  (1 child)

Look... he lives in the United States now, so he's ours by proxy. But I'll tell you what, feel free to take Ted Cruz back!!! We'll throw in Lauren Boebert and Marjorie Taylor Greene to help sweeten that deal. Theres a few more names on the list we can discuss but I can't show my hand all in one sitting.

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Can we send them all of our politicians regardless of political affiliation? That’s be great, maybe we can elect people who deserve it, like keanu

[–]Apprehensive_Bug_826 159 points160 points  (7 children)

When the aliens arrive we need to send Keanu as our representative.

[–]Waste-Ocelot3116 115 points116 points  (2 children)

they'd probably say "we only came here to meet Keanu" lol

[–]Apprehensive_Bug_826 44 points45 points  (0 children)

When people ask “Why would a highly advanced species, who have conquered the non-trivial challenge of intergalactic space flight, want to make contact with a relative back water like Earth?” I feel like “To meet Keanu Reeves” is actually a good answer.

[–]Leonydas13 7 points8 points  (0 children)

“Hey cheers for saving us the trouble of landing, we just wanted this guy. Bye losers”

[–]Buffythedjsnare 8 points9 points  (2 children)

And risk him being taken from us?

[–]Thorasor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Great, then we'll have the movie "The Day the Earth Stood Still" play out, which he also starred in.

[–]Kevaldes 1348 points1349 points  (111 children)

I think Keanu might be the only unequivocally good person on the planet.

[–]Homicidal__GoldFish 537 points538 points  (2 children)

oh god ya... When he was here in the bay area, he would spend a couple of hours talking with fans and just being a totally amazing person.. He would even remember if he had seen you a day or 2 ago and mention it.

[–]zenbuck2 303 points304 points  (30 children)

Dolly Parton should be in your list!

[–]giggy_90210_x 67 points68 points  (4 children)

[–]hesapmakinesi 8 points9 points  (1 child)

The Matrix: Resolutions – the fourth film in the franchise

Hmm

[–]beefinbed 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Dolly:Reloaded

[–]Kevaldes 140 points141 points  (13 children)

Did some quick research and uh... yeah, damn, I think you might be right. 😅

[–]zenbuck2 93 points94 points  (4 children)

They’re both national treasures. If only the world was made up of more like them!

[–]EasyPriority8724 15 points16 points  (4 children)

Dolly for President 👍

[–]makesyougohmmm 10 points11 points  (1 child)

There'll be no more criminals since she'll meet with them and then Parton everyone.

[–]EasyPriority8724 2 points3 points  (0 children)

😂 I see what you did there.

[–]NoBullfrog6222 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah Dolly’s goated as a human 100%

[–]bytesback 2 points3 points  (1 child)

[–]mysockinabox 20 points21 points  (9 children)

Definitely, but also maybe Fred Rogers, Steve Irwin, and Robin Williams.

[–]Screwyball 10 points11 points  (4 children)

Bob Ross definitely!

[–]Aetra 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Robert Irwin as well

[–]samantha802 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Levar Burton should be on that list too

[–]mysockinabox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can’t disappoint a picture.

[–]Dov_Yehudi 23 points24 points  (3 children)

There are good ones everywhere, the trick is to fight the cynic that makes you want to think there aren't, I promise ❤️.

[–]ChaosKeeshond 13 points14 points  (2 children)

I'm so cynical that I'm still braced for the eventual reveal that Keanu kicks squirrels or some shit like that. Can't be letting guards down around celebs

[–]rangogogo 51 points52 points  (3 children)

There are a Lot more. Most of them just arent celebritys

[–]zeugma888 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That is something we should always keep mind. And aspire to ourselves

[–]combustioncat 10 points11 points  (1 child)

There are many many more like him. You can appoint yourself to the position by simply being a good person, it is a very inclusive club.

[–]Accomplished_Yak2352 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Brendan Fraser, too. 🙂

[–]Bendrake 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I know what you’re trying to say, but what an incredibly naive thing to say.

There are millions of incredibly pure and kind people who just are never seen by the masses.

[–]shu3k 45 points46 points  (32 children)

Terry Crews

[–]bluebloodsnowman 52 points53 points  (19 children)

wtf is you profile photo i tried to clean my phone screen lmao

[–]Tomas_iss 32 points33 points  (16 children)

Who tf uses ligth mode?

[–]theinevitable22 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Light mode in day, dark at night.

[–]dingusfett 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the way

[–]zman_0000 17 points18 points  (1 child)

I mean I do, but my screen is pretty cracked to hell and the lighter backdrop makes it easier to make out most of what's on my screen. I have dark lines going across different areas that look totally black without a brighter backdrop.

Dunno about other people though.

[–]Tomas_iss 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Most (unironically) reasonable light mode user:

[–]SanestFrogFucker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Advertising how good it is to work at amazon really a people's person

[–]LawdyDaa 135 points136 points  (19 children)

If this man does any wrong I fear for the backlash… he’s almost too nice it’s starting to worry me lol

[–]TheDugal 133 points134 points  (10 children)

I don't know if I imagined it, but I vaguely remember a community on the internet really trying to find shit about him and they couldn't find anything, like at all. Even on the pictures he takes with fans he doesn't even have physical contact with them.

[–]LawdyDaa 60 points61 points  (4 children)

Yeah, I’d believe it, he’s too good lol like he did something in the 90s or went all Neo on someone and now has to make sure no one finds out lol I appreciate any decent male role model, I just worry the cult of celebrity will throw him under the bus when he’s an old man and yells at someone or something lol

[–]Spacealienblob 51 points52 points  (3 children)

This is why I'm willing to let Christian Bale's behind the scenes tantrum slide, because losing his temper on-set one time just makes him normal, I imagine he looks back on that incident with regret like any person who lost their temper at work would, work can be stressful. Sucks that it tarnished his reputation forever, not enough to ruin his career thankfully, but enough that no one ever wants to meet him, no matter how many times he makes a movie and no tantrums occur people will still think he's a hot head.

[–]MonoDede 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Bale's still okay in my mind, I don't think it talked his reputation. I read the backstory about what happened and the guy he yelled at was really pushing it for a long time so I don't think he's a complete hothouse flower.

[–]itsluxsky 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Imagine being on such a witch hunt it ends in “fuck he’s too nice and good to be got”

[–]Poopdick_89 37 points38 points  (6 children)

He just has a bittersweet understanding of life due to the death of his wife and son. He's not interested in living for the wrong reasons I'd imagine.

His sister also died of leukemia. Apparently he pushed back filming of the matrix to take care of her.

[–]HauntedSpark 14 points15 points  (1 child)

And he donated 70% of the earnings from the first matrix movie! He’s an angel 🥺

[–]NoBullfrog6222 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Well that numbers not quite accurate and I’m not entirely sure where it even came from, but he did “donate” a significant amount from ALL of his matrix movies. Started with spreading his royalties out to all the crew and FX guys, and he also donated some good chunks to charities. I don’t think he gave even half of his total matrix earnings way, but it was huge chunk for sure, and the fact that his first thought was to negotiate his own royalties for the production crew is really badass

I heard somewhere that Keanu sometimes has to be dragged away by his own staff because he will spend so much time speaking to fans he will almost be late to things. He is a God Tier human and I don’t think any other celebrity is anywhere near Keanu level.

[–]NejiNerd[🍰] 78 points79 points  (9 children)

I almost don't believe this man is real

[–]Master-Machine-8700 34 points35 points  (0 children)

[–]GlowInTheDarkNinjas 24 points25 points  (0 children)

My dad grew up good friends with someone who became moderately famous (not quite Keanu level famous, but you've heard of him) who also has a reputation for being the super nice guy to everyone.

He says he can't even have a bad day around people or tell off an annoying fan bothering him in public without shattering this persona that surrounded him because he was just trying to be so polite to people. I always think of him when reddit gushes over Keanu nonstop, because now it's going to be a big deal if he DOES ever say something that comes off as rude to a fan.

Let the guy just be himself without putting him up on a pedestal all the time because he's such a perfect angel to everyone. I can only imagine that takes some degree of a mental toll on him.

[–]Deathwatch72 9 points10 points  (2 children)

I don't think I've ever heard a bad thing about Keanu, I think he might be the one genuinely good human being alive

[–]MeesterCartmanez 14 points15 points  (1 child)

[–]Snorrikisa 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I remember seeing him perform Hamlet in Winnipeg when I was young. It was late 90's so he was already on his way to being a big star and my sister commenting how it was nice he didn't drop out since some rising stars would be think acting in a stage production in a small city was beneath them after doing blockbuster movies. I heard he was lovely to all the fans who waited at the backdoor after the show to see home leave.

[–]ReignInSpuds 27 points28 points  (6 children)

Keanu for President. If we're going to do celebrities in politics, let's do what we should have been doing all along and elect the ones who are legitimately good people with a good heart.

[–]MarvinLazer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Look at his wiki when you get the chance. The guy has been through hell. Would that we all dealt with our pain by trying to spread beauty in the world.

[–]vouteignorar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Keanu is proof that just because you’re rich and famous does not mean you have to be an asshole.

[–]Objective-Island7586 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We don’t deserve him 😭

[–]Ezergill 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really thought this would end with something like "he really was my grandfather, but cause he was immortal he had to create a new identity and flee"😅

[–]Zodira 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I swear that man is a global treasure!

[–]Optimus_Prowse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I usually hear stories like this about actors doing stuff like this, my brain jumps into a "I smell BS" mode or that the stories are completely made up.

But this is about Keanu Reeves. He is the only Actor were I truly believe that he does such a thing!

The Man is a good damn legend!

[–]The_Bogan_Blacksmith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He is truly a good human.

Keanu is one of those rare gem celebrities you hear about/look at and think

" Yeah that's a decent human "

In a world where rappers push murder/drug abuse, Celebrities like the kardashians pushing overpriced garbage fashion and corrupt politicians screwing over countries ..

"Keanu is the rare few"

Don't be an asshat, Be like keanu

Keanu for President

[–]Jswljones 2 points3 points  (0 children)
