We're all here to talk about our favorite basketball team. Personal attacks on people will not be tolerated. People have different views an opinions on the team. If you disagree, provide a well thought out response to another person's post instead of degrading and slamming the person & their comment.
We also, of course, will not tolerate offensive words nor personal insults to anyone. We want everyone no matter their age, gender, sexual preferences, race, etc. to feel welcome in this subreddit.
Do not post or comment with the purpose of trolling or inciting reactions from other users. This will lead to a ban. Don't be a troll. Ain't nobody got time for that (unless it's to troll right-wing nutjobs).
All post's contents should be elaborated upon in the title of the post. Post's title must be close to article's content or tweet's text. A post vaguely titled "Finally, yes!" to a tweet, or "Well, this is it boys" to an article, for instances, will be removed. We want the content of the tweet or article as the post. Save your commentary for the comments.
Please provide substance in your post. Please do not post upvote parties. They are low effort posts, and usually do not provide any content, thus below minimum quality. If you actually do have relevant content/information, you can simply make a hype post instead with a different syntax. For example, instead of a "PAOLO BANCHERO CAREER HIGH UPVOTE PARTY" you could post "Congrats to Paolo on his career high (69 Points)!" Upvote parties are a way to karmafarm. Our members want quality on the page.
Reactionary posts may make for great comments to enhance on-going discussions, so please leave your post as a comment in the most relevant post like a one of the [DAILY THREAD] posts instead of its own post. Individual reaction posts unnecessarily clutter up the front page and may rile users up.
Posts that have already been posted will be deleted so our page is not cluttered with duplicates, even if it's from a different source. This may apply to someone posting a tweet from one Orlando Magic Twitter account to the subreddit after someone else on the subreddit already posted a tweet containing the same information, but from a different Twitter source. They do not have to be exactly the same as long as the information in similar, thus rendering it redundant.
If we hear from another team's subreddit's mods that there are people from our sub instigating negativity in their subreddit or starting comment battles, you will be banned from our sub. Most other NBA subreddit's do this too. Come on, keep all the negative comments about other teams here - no need to go in their subreddit just to provoke and antagonize.
Self promotion includes, but is not limited to: Promoting or linking to your youtube channel, site, podcast, blog, etc. In addition, promoting or linking to your design website, fan art, logo or court redesigns, etc. also counts. So does trying to sell merchandise (t-shirts, jerseys, artwork, etc.) There's a big difference between people that are trying to use our subreddit for their own personal gain and people that are just trying to share something with the community.
If you have any questions/suggestions, please contact the mods through modmail personally rather than post about it. It only clutters the page and makes a probable minor issue that could easily be resolved in-house unnecessarily publicized
