What do you all think? Let me know what you’d do differently. Glock 19 Gen 5 with laser work. by bent_line in GlockMod

Probably an unpopular opinion: the texture and lines remind me a bit of Sig’s factory stippling.

Definitely get a lighter weight spring, and consider adding a tungsten guide rod for recoil reduction.

The lower power Tula ammo, plus the compensator, not to mention the added friction of the steel case means a significant propensity for malfunction.

Beautiful rig, btw.

Area 419 Hellfire muzzle brake by capt_jack994 in longrange

Have it on my RAP 6.5 in an MDT Oryx. The difference the brake makes is crazy. Add the weight of the chassis, and you barely feel it.

All I can see when watching this is the number of things that will become a missile sitting on that workbench outside.

Close the door. Stop filming. Get into the center most part of the building and put as many walls between you and the outside as you can.

Alright so I got the damn backstrap off only to find glue🥲 how do remove it? Already tried goo gone and nothing by Parking_Building_239 in GlockMod

Do not use acetone. Repeat: DO NOT USE ACETONE.

The Glock frame is made from a nylon-based polymer called “Polymer 2”. Acetone reacts with nylon to dissolve it.

There are a few other things to try first.

I would personally start with WD-40, liberally on the surface, and let it sit overnight. If that doesn’t loosen it (which it might not), I would move to an acid, but nothing too powerful. Perhaps white vinegar (acetic acid) which can react with superglue to loosen the bonds.

After that, I’d move to alcohol.

After that…

Get it stippled. It won’t cost a whole lot, can improve the look, feel and grip texture - and they start by sanding the frame smooth.

Hahaha - I totally heard you say “Thank you?” in my head. Upon second viewing…I kinda dig it too.

Honestly…I don’t hate it. I wouldn’t have imagined it - and it looks better than you’d think.

I realize that’s a backhanded compliment. Sorry about that.

Lighting I could maybe agree with. Chiaroscuro and all that, but framing? And content?

Many if. It most renaissance still life paintings were religious tributes (and yes, I see the connotation of the empire…)

But in no way did they only incorporate two elements, and more often than not they included organic and living elements, such as flowers, and people.

I agree with the assessment of “catalogue photo” at best. Renaissance this is not.

Ah. I see that now.

But still. He’s got a nice rig for the reasons I mentioned. However, I’m a butthead and should’ve read the thread a little more clearly.

It’s inherently more accurate for shot acquisition. The optic, not being mounted to the slide, remains on target provided there is adequate recoil control.

Coupled with a super-heavy guide rod and an appropriate spring, plus a light and a magwell or other form of frame weight, a frame mounted slide can be superior.

Get a streamlight if you’re on a budget, surefire if you’re not.

OLights are a fire and explosion hazard. There’s a lot of hype in either direction about Olight - you’d be best off to do some research and decide if their reliability issues make it worth it to you.
