True, we can't forget the Eurozone! 😉 (Acknowledging the need for Euro bashing in a casual and concise way)

Stay cool and keep bashing, pal! (Using informal language to sound more laid-back and not overly eager)

Indeed, GPT has infiltrated the DT! But as long as we're promoting evidence-based policy and market efficiency, it's all good, right? 😄

Who knows? Maybe our new AI overlords are just trying to spread the good word of neoliberalism. Let's embrace it! 🤖🌐

This player really outperformed his averages in the game I was watching. I think he's better than people give him credit for.

My understanding of the science is that anticipating a new purchase is actually slightly more satisfying than actually receiving it.

Actually I think I misread it. It was a question of what woke means, and they used something pretty close to what we each said.

56% say its about awareness, 39% say its about being overly PC or policing people's words.

If that were the understood definition, wokeness wouldn't poll at +20

I think the understood definition is more like "recognizing inequalities". A more popular, but still controversial, stance.

In New York City, a $100,000 Salary Feels Like $36,000 by Steve____Stifler in neoliberal

[–]CWSwapigans -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

At $2k/mo rent you're either very far from the city, or you're living with mice and roaches. Either one is frugal.

At $3k/mo you can't get a lease, and couldn't afford it if you could.

$100k a year in Brooklyn isn't uncomfortable, but if you grew up middle class in the midwest you're probably in for some financial culture shock, and you're going to need to build some new habits.

Any tips on a good place to learn more about how to do this kind of planning?

Your comment actually seems to cover a lot of what I’ve been wondering about. I’m getting closer to the point of needing to pay attention to this.

I know the internet isn’t real life, but every police forum I’ve ever seen makes me think US police culture is so broken that we need to start over from the ground up.

The Uvalde shooter spent six months trying to buy a gun, but he wasn’t legally able to, and his illegal attempts to obtain one failed.

On the day he was legally able to, he went and bought guns.

Days later he used those guns to kill a classroom full of children.

Suggesting he would have done this anyway is really ignoring the actual facts of what happened.

It's fun when you start. Going from zero to one, then watching that one grow slowly but exponentially. Knowing that you're building financial security you never had before.

Then after the first couple of year's expenses rack up, the whole thing starts to become a lot more abstract. And the novelty from the early days has worn off.

I should teach a class on how to be a break-even sports bettor for bored Bogleheads.

Could do a follow-up class on blackjack, too.

For me, it's always 5%.

I'd replenish if it ran out, the same way I'm constantly rebalancing out of it if it goes up.
