“ Did you stock the game shelves?” “ One sec, gotta make a meme” “.....You’re fired”

The true hero

[–]milkywayer 340 points341 points  (32 children)

I bought this game of ps4 from best buy for $20 with a free steel case worth another $10 included. I think this game isn't selling well.

[–]TheFlashFrame 253 points254 points  (8 children)

It sold really well actually, but the inflated pre order numbers caused CDPR to ship way too many copies because after the game came out to largely negative reception the demand for it plummeted.

[–]Choice-Ads 17 points18 points  (1 child)

76 was coming free with Xboxs, controllers, other games, and even like bogo1/2o

[–]schmobin88 2 points3 points  (5 children)

I wanted to buy it so bad, but after reading the reviews it sounded like a waste of money due to the bugs. Did they ever fix it?

[–]SabbataiPC 76 points77 points  (19 children)

You can get The Division 2 for $10 regularly.

It was one of the best selling games of 2019.

MK11 was in the top 20 for 2020. Selling for $15 right now.

Ghost of Tsushima is $17 at Wal Mart. It was the soundtrack. :(

[–]houlmyhead 40 points41 points  (5 children)

GoT is $17? That's shockingly cheap

[–]kilgorevontrouty 17 points18 points  (2 children)

I got the GoT GoTY edition and I just wanted to use those acronyms together….

[–][deleted] 33 points34 points  (4 children)

The Division 2 is a Ubisoft game though. They go on sale the moment they're released.

[–]Gluteuz-Maximus 13 points14 points  (0 children)

FarCry6 pre-order has already had a discount so they do it before release now

[–]Soulless_conner 716 points717 points  (71 children)

They did the same for 76 and people believed it lol. The bias is strong

[–]bobbob9015 201 points202 points  (46 children)

Didn't 76s ebay price actually plummet to almost free though? Cyberpunk 2077 for older consoles is down to 20-30 on ebay which isn't too crazy, but clearly there are mismatches between supply and demand for different games. Fallout and Cyberpunk were both expected to sell crazy amounts of copies so there are a ton of them floating around out there and people don't want them that badly.

Which also dang it seems like there is a bunch of the cyberpunk 2077 collectors stuff going on ebay for pretty cheap, I might pick some up.

[–]spideybiggestfan 82 points83 points  (23 children)

according to Internet Historian ( A very reputable source in every industry imaginable). They even taped it on to other games

[–]Merppity 44 points45 points  (2 children)

They were giving out 76 with Blue Yeti mics for a while

[–]Adrokor 26 points27 points  (3 children)

76 was coming free with Xboxs, controllers, other games, and even like bogo1/2o

[–]Willfishforfree 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My local gamestop was giving away physical copies of 76 with everything. New joypad? Free copy of 76. New console? Free copy of 76 just taped to the box, it wasn't even an advertised offer. Spend over €40 on used games? Free copy of 76. Try and return a copy of 76? Believe it or not, free copy of 76.

Ok that last ones a joke but seriously they were dumping all their stock on their customers. The amount of unused second hand copies of 76 being traded in was comical.

[–]ZuliCurah 6 points7 points  (2 children)

I caught my local EB games overstocking Mass Effect Andromeda to make it look like it was selling poorly. When in reality it actually sold really well despite the reputation

[–]weaponsgradelife 15 points16 points  (2 children)

We just have ours in a tote on the ground in the back collecting dust.

Fuck me. I could never sub there because all those posts make me irrationally angry

[–]isademigod 234 points235 points  (40 children)

in what way? because that sub makes me angry because most of the posts are just as likely to be NOT set up.

I've blacklisted all the "crosspost things here to make fun of them" subs, and Reddit has become so much more pleasant

[–]minardif1 161 points162 points  (30 children)

Several years ago, I went to McDonald’s and got two cheeseburgers. One was correct. One was just two buns with a melted cheese slice and no meat. I made a post about it (useless post, but in any case, it was several years ago). People absolutely accused me of faking it.

The fact that there are people who do fake that stuff just for internet points is slightly depressing, but overall, I choose to avoid the cynicism. Random, stupid, amusing things also happen pretty regularly.

[–]Snowwolf_Bravo 63 points64 points  (13 children)

Fun fact, I worked at a McDonald’s, and that was a grilled cheese kinda thing we did to order. So it might have been another customers order. So even if someone said it’s fake, it’s a thing people can order.

[–]ThePirateBuxton 25 points26 points  (11 children)

I once got a burger covered in plastic from Mcdonalds, they argued with me and tried hard to not give me my $2 back.

[–]Snowwolf_Bravo 11 points12 points  (8 children)

That is messed up, I don’t work there anymore, but I know the people I worked with would have given the refund or a new burger at the very least.

[–]ThePirateBuxton 14 points15 points  (7 children)

It was weird the lady at the counter couldn’t understand what the problem was even after I showed her it. That location closed down when McDonalds stop being at Walmarts.

[–]Snowwolf_Bravo 9 points10 points  (5 children)

Tbh, I personally think chain stores inside grocery buildings don’t do all that well, some of them do if it’s the right shop, and the right location. Where I work now, we have a little place inside our store, a grocery store, but it just sells small things and hotdogs/drinks. It works for my bosses.

[–]JabbrWockey 9 points10 points  (2 children)

Yep. Same reason I had to unsub from /r/nothingeverhappens

[–]JBFRESHSKILLS 45 points46 points  (4 children)

Yeah, the "It's fake" crowd is annoying af. Like, who cares? I was playing cornhole on labor day a few years ago and my teammate threw a bag that landed directly on the hole, except it didn't go in as all four corner of the bag just rested over the hole. I thought it was one of the most mildly interesting things I had scene. Was instantly called a liar and downvoted. Oh well, people are skeptical assholes.

[–]0imnotreal0 8 points9 points  (1 child)

Were the bags packed tight? Or loose and floppy?

When I think of cornhole, I’ve only used these floppy bags that don’t seem to have enough filler, so the corners will just fold in. I’m guessing this is also what others thought it was

[–]Aendri 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Happened to me and my friends a week or two back, bags are a bit newish, and it had been raining. Probably wouldn't be possible with bags that were worn in enough.

[–]DiceKnight 22 points23 points  (3 children)

Cross posting as a feature really did a lot to dilute reddit. You'll get the same posts across five or six different subreddits all done within a minute of each other by the same user.

[–]BabyEatersAnonymous 5 points6 points  (1 child)

r/damnbeamazedthisisinterestingasWTF

[–]kakka_rot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The posts on /r/mildlyinteresting are often more interesting than on /r/interestingasfuck , which has become basically a catch all picture there.

I'll never forget the time a regular fucking Warthog reached the front page with the caption "Pumbah from The Lion King in real life"

[–]ban_Anna_split 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They thought "hey people are gonna do this anyways, let's make it easier because more engagement = good"

Good for the shareholders, bad for the users.

[–]beado7 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Basically me with anything political.

[–]Reacher-Said-N0thing 36 points37 points  (4 children)

An entire sub formed out of a Reddit hive mind moment where everyone collectively convinced themselves that nobody could ever get a packet of poptarts with THREE poptarts in the packet, and that OP somehow managed to cram a 3rd poptart in there in the hopes this picture of 3 pop tarts would earn him massive internet points.

[–]beado7 11 points12 points  (1 child)

Just change some of those details around and you can pretty much describe any subreddit. Only phrase that can’t be changed: hive mind

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Reminded me of a time I was rolling a bunch of dice at once over and over again I think it was 12 or 14 dice for the heck of it cause I was bored and at one point they all came up 6 at once, I think the photo was lost to time, not that the photo proved anything. Happened years ago and I am still in awe of the odds of that happening.

[–]WhatsUpFishes 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Man nearly all those things they’re saying are impossible are all extremely possible. There was maybe one out of the 20 or so that were obviously faked. And at the end of the day, who cares if it’s real or not. It’s either real and neat or fake and it doesn’t affect you in any way.

[–]ish_squatcho 23 points24 points  (1 child)

Even if Cyberpunk sold that poorly, there's no way every other game sold that well.

[–]Wasteak 8 points9 points  (0 children)

And it didn't even sell poorly

[–][deleted] 24 points25 points  (5 children)

How else do you think the games made it to the shelf?? Instant transmission?

[–]roughsleeperUK 5 points6 points  (2 children)

There was the sound of winds howling and the games just appeared!

[–]acortright 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Place of power? Gotta be.

[–]Ologolos 1523 points1524 points  (52 children)

That doesn't look staged or anything, either

[–]HammerStark 329 points330 points  (31 children)

This is pretty normal for Best Buy when they have a bunch of extra copies of anything.

I remember when Chinese Democracy was released, we had so many boxes of that damn cd, we were putting it literally anywhere.

[–][deleted] 67 points68 points  (22 children)

What’s Chinese democracy?

[–]Paladin_leeroy27 107 points108 points  (3 children)

Guns'n roses albumn

[–]HammerStark 62 points63 points  (5 children)

It was a Guns ‘N Roses album that was ‘highly anticipated’ and then sold like shit.

[–]The_Gutgrinder 23 points24 points  (2 children)

Because it was shit.

[–]SerratedFrost 8 points9 points  (0 children)

So bittersweet, this tragedy won't ask for absolution

[–]bjt23PC 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Guns n Roses

[–]SwallowedBuckyBalls 22 points23 points  (2 children)

Just today I saw a cage at Best Buy with cyberpunk, avengers, battlefield5 and that was it. It’s definitely normal.

[–]MJenkins1018 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I work at Best Buy. We have a cart in the warehouse of "overstock" games, or games waiting on street date. We've got about 50 copies of Cyberpunk for PS4 sitting on the first two rows. Looks like this store just put them on an overstock shelf on the floor instead of back in the warehouse.

[–]SativaPancake 26 points27 points  (0 children)

If it had some Fallout 76 on the shelf too I would believe it

[–][deleted] 103 points104 points  (9 children)

It’s like OP set it up themselves for the sake of bashing the game

[–]Dimerobot[S] 219 points220 points  (5 children)

Yup. I walked behind the Best Buy counter and rearranged their inventory for internet points. /s

[–][deleted] 171 points172 points  (1 child)

[–]Staticus7 8 points9 points  (0 children)

[–]crazyleaf 167 points168 points  (110 children)

What am I missing? Cyberpunk tanked that much on sales?

[–]Joseluki 324 points325 points  (77 children)

The PS4 version of the game was so buggy that they had to take it down from the pstore.

[–]crazyleaf 75 points76 points  (28 children)

Thanks for the clarification 🙏

[–]Disastrous-Actuary31 106 points107 points  (10 children)

Also, they offered refunds, no questions asked and there is STILL a warning on the PS shop about the game.

[–][deleted] 58 points59 points  (6 children)

Sony didn't offer the refunds. CDPR did. That's the whole reason it was taken off the store.

[–]CookieCrumbl 47 points48 points  (2 children)

Not just a warning, Sony straight up telling you not to buy the PS4 version lol

[–]half-giant 29 points30 points  (15 children)

It’s mostly fixed now but the Reddit rhetoric will make you think it’s still as buggy as launch. The memes were funny but they are really overdone.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is exactly why I stay away from the internet on games I haven't played yet because really 95% of people online didn't actually play it and are just saying the same horse crap other people say while the 5% that actually played it gets ignored.

[–]someonevk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had a good experience on ps4, but I literally didn't even open the game until late Feb or early March. I got it in Jan as a birthday present. I had no more issues than a typical Bethesda game. I'd say right now it is roughly on par with Fallout 4.

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's not at all what happened though.

PS took the game off their online store for political reasons.

CDPR offered refunds to anyone who wanted one. This goes against Sony's refund policy. So they completely removed the game from the store. Both blocking refunds and saying "fuck you" to CDPR for trying to do right by the consumer.

[–]Azmoten 33 points34 points  (23 children)

Despite the incredible bandwagon of hate the game gets on Reddit, CDPR still made hundreds of millions from Cyberpunk after refunds.

Source

[–]AFerociousPineapple 14 points15 points  (4 children)

Actually no, after all the negative reviews and even with it not being on the ps store until recently they still sold millions, and only 30-40k were refunded apparently. Since launch though I think sales have declined a fair bit though.

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points  (3 children)

My friend didn't refund it, but he haven't touched it since it's launch week for example, as he is waiting for the fix. I wonder how many ppl did the same, or they played too much, and steam made it illegible for refunds.

Edit: also we don't how much will they lose from the suing.

[–]tealreddit 169 points170 points  (116 children)

Am I the only one who really enjoyed this game?

[–]Wanemore 107 points108 points  (74 children)

No, a lot of people did. But in my opinion, it was at best a pretty meh game even if you put aside the fact that it was technical shit show riddled with bugs

[–]tordana 148 points149 points  (72 children)

The game was 10/10 graphics, 9/10 story, 6/10 gameplay, and 1/10 polish. It was my personal game of the year as the best RPG experience I've played in a very long time, but I absolutely understand why some people hated it and many others simply couldn't play it.

[–][deleted] 409 points410 points  (10 children)

1/10 polish

Are you stupid? This game is 100% Polish! God people these days don’t read credits.

[–][deleted] 38 points39 points  (2 children)

Yeah, well it clearly wasn't Finnished.

[–]Bribase 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It definitely wasn't. I Czeched.

[–]lunaticneko 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The developers were completely Thai'd up in bug fixing, though.

[–]iAmUnintelligible 72 points73 points  (3 children)

You're gonna go far, kid.

[–]DarkMatterM4 20 points21 points  (2 children)

Dance, fucker, dance.

[–][deleted] 11 points12 points  (1 child)

[–]themoochiestPlayStation 8 points9 points  (0 children)

And no one even knew it was really only you

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Holy shit he's right

Oh my fuck

You nailed it bud

[–]SoulCruizer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ok this was gold

[–][deleted] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I suggest people just go back and play “classics” from 10-20 years ago and just appreciate how far games have come. Nothing back then was perfect. Even the shit we think was perfect had its quirks.

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points  (1 child)

It's very easy nowadays to have good graphics in your game if you don't give a single fuck about performance. Cyberpunk is horribly optimized.

[–]Wanemore 45 points46 points  (10 children)

I completely disagree with the story. It was at best a 6/10 story for me. Keanu as Johnny Silverhand got really old, really fast in my opinion.

Gameplay was a 4/10. Generic FPS with uninteresting weapons and abilities. Less interesting gameplay than a Far Cry game. Crafting that was literally an endless chore of clicking thanks to horrible UI mechanics. Hacking game that got old very fast.

[–]Joseluki 24 points25 points  (10 children)

That is not true, they promised a ton of things that weren't in the game, the city is dead and uninteractive and there is really no branching of your decissions as they said it would. They had even "postponed" the promised multiplayer, it might as well never be released because I am pretty sure there is 0% work done on that section of the game.

This game needed nearly two more years until completion.

[–]Oimaetudobem 14 points15 points  (0 children)

i played in ps4,and i hated the state of the game,it's really a mess, but the history and the characters are so good that this game don't deserve them lol,a history that is so good should be in a complete game

[–]ArcherMi 25 points26 points  (6 children)

Lots of people did, but none of us can enjoy it as much as some people enjoy bashing on it.

[–]Boomer048 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I suppose I must've been pretty lucky with the stability and reliability of my experience with it; I didn't crash once and only noticed a couple bugs here and there. I had a blast with the gunplay, and enjoyed following the story arcs of all the characters. Absolutely loved the atmosphere too. I'm always kinda bummed to see how poorly it was recieved.

[–]eggsaladladdy 486 points487 points  (79 children)

Y'all act like Spore never happened

This aint anything new stop playing into hype and pre ordering shit

[–]EskilPotet 331 points332 points  (26 children)

I don't think most people on this sub are old enough to remember when Spore was released

[–]HemiBaby 209 points210 points  (10 children)

I remember being chased and killed by a penis shaped creature. Fun times

[–]dcoold 91 points92 points  (8 children)

God I loved that game.

[–]BossePhoto 86 points87 points  (6 children)

In the end it was simpler than we all had hoped.... But I played the shit out of that game.

[–]dcoold 52 points53 points  (2 children)

I think I was 13 at the time, and was allowed to get 1 pc game at the store we were at. No prior knowledge as to what spore was I picked it. No regrets.

[–]SwimmingTea2021 13 points14 points  (1 child)

It’s a great game if you have no expectations

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I got Spore as a kid when I saw a YouTuber I liked playing it and didn't know about the game beforehand. I now have 900 or so hours on base game with about 50 on Galactic Adventures. I know that some people have 10k hours on games like CSGO and TF2 and stuff but for me 900 is a lot considering I used to play mainly on my Xbox 360 at the time since my PC was terrible and couldn't run very many games. So yeah, I guess what you said is true lol

[–]Breakingcontrollers 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It was "fable" level of promises without delivering while still bring a good game

[–]imakemediocreart 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I remember it was kinda meh but the second stage was really fun. Wish they focused more of that stage/type of gameplay

[–]Grokent 3 points4 points  (0 children)

D-dad?

[–]WolfySpice 29 points30 points  (2 children)

It seems fun, but if you were aware of the hype and talk about it, and that it was being designed by the genius that was Will Wright, when you saw the end product... oh god.

[–]ContinuumGuy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

IIRC EA forced Will to make it more cartoony and repetitive. Forced them to take out at least additional evolutionary level, as well.

[–]dedreo 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the remember! That I feel old...oh so old.

[–]Rex51230 17 points18 points  (0 children)

God i was so hyped for spore i remeber being so excited i riped open the disc case when i got jn the car and was just looking at it on the drive home. I still love spore even though a lot of people think it didnt live up to the hype.

[–]TwinFoxs 8 points9 points  (2 children)

I honest God hope one day outta nowhere they decide to make a new spore game. It desperately needs a come back.

[–]wasdlmb 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It was the first big games I played on the PC. I saved up for it for a long time. I loved it and regret nothing.

I have pre-ordered two games in my life, Cyberpunk was one of them, and I don't regret that either.

[–]JaidenH 45 points46 points  (12 children)

Lmao remember Brink too

[–]Vyper11 13 points14 points  (2 children)

Bruh brink. And homeland or some shit?

[–]mannieCx 14 points15 points  (1 child)

HOMELAND. Why the hell did they make it so irrationally hard. Like it wasn't the type of game that was hard and you could beat it with superior tactics and accuracy, you just died with the enemies having split second aiming

[–]MexGrow 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Wasn't in HOMEFRONT? It was to be mostly multiplayer, it had a really cool concept. The problem is that it released the same day or week that Battlefield Bad Company 2 did, which completely overshadowed it in multiplayer alone.

[–]Atomic_XBL 11 points12 points  (4 children)

Remember TimeShift?

[–]fdsfgs71 13 points14 points  (2 children)

Remember Too Human?

[–]Atomic_XBL 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Remember Lost Planet?

[–]anynoumos 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ooh I member

[–]BigBully127PC 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nah, remember Timesplitters and that one stupid level where you got molested by monkeys

[–]artificial_organism 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ugh. The worst part is that it probably could have been a decent game with some tweaks but they just didn't play test it?

[–]jda404 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Brink? Guessing there was a poorly received game with that title. Might be showing my age a little, but only Brink I know is the 1998 Disney Channel original movie about soul skaters ha.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ironically they’ve had great success since brink doing… basically more of the same. Splash Damage is like THE go to 3rd party for making multiplayer maps/addon packs

[–]SansGray 30 points31 points  (5 children)

Anthem T_T

[–]Izzy5466 16 points17 points  (4 children)

Anthem looked so good, then I played the demo/beta. I have never felt worse. They lied about almost every single part of that game lol

[–]gabriel77galeano 8 points9 points  (3 children)

Anthem looked so good

I'll never understand the people who thought this. The colossal flop that was Mass Effect Andromeda happened literally just a couple of months before the Anthem reveal, yet here was Bioware showing off this new IP? And not only that, it was a looter shooter which Bio isn't even experienced with and had nothing interesting going on with it besides a flying gimmick? Yeah, this was probably the most red-flagged game in years. Anthem was dead on reveal for me, because Bioware was a dead developer on reveal of this game.

[–]thunderbird32 4 points5 points  (1 child)

To be fair to the people who jumped on-board the hypetrain, Anthem was by Bioware Edmonton who had done the original Mass Effect trilogy, *not* by Bioware Montreal who had been in charge of Andromeda.

[–]NotAwosentS 25 points26 points  (2 children)

Spore is actually one of my favorite game, but it might just be the nostalgia.

[–][deleted] 9 points10 points  (1 child)

Spore is a legitimately good game

[–][deleted] 18 points19 points  (6 children)

Wait was Spore not a huge success? I remember my friends and I all loved the hell out of Spore.

[–]Mr_Pigface 16 points17 points  (3 children)

It was a fun game if you played it without any expectations. However, that game is literally nothing like it was promised to be. They cut out a lot of what generated so much of the hype they had heading into release.

[–]SAC_730 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Tbf it got neutered by execs wanting a kid friendly game, not by rushed development or whatever caused cyberpunk to end up like this.

[–][deleted] 27 points28 points  (2 children)

The hype for Cyberpunk was way bigger and it lasted for years though

[–]Vaperius 33 points34 points  (2 children)

Oh come now, Spore wasn't the game we were promised but it was a serviceable game when it launched all the same. Very much you can go back to Spore just for the still fairly unique creature editor(no game has quite replicated the tech) and that along has value.

Spore also I feel, still has a lasting impact to this day on the cultural landscape; with a lot of smaller game developers making games that strongly emulate various game stages of Spore, particularly the Cell and Creature stages. Spore to this day is remember by many very fondly.

Cyberpunk 2077 on the other hand, I worry, is at best going to at this rate a parody of itself that serves solely as a monument to corporate greed. I don't personally see very many future game developers trying to emulate it honestly and worse, I do worry its killed the cyberpunk genre for possibly a decade as a marketable aspect of any game.

[–]outofcontrolbehavior 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No Man's Land was Spore 2: Penis-shaped Aliens in Penis-shaped Ships

[–]MrBonesMalonePC 149 points150 points  (1 child)

Plot twist: the other shelves also had cyberpunk, and that row was just restocked

[–]chefr89 47 points48 points  (0 children)

the plot twist is Reddit actually eating this up like it’s real

[–]WaveJam 79 points80 points  (15 children)

I like Cyberpunk, I just hate that CDPR lied to PS4 users and the game is rough on the console. It should have been advertised for only PS5.

[–]Anthonys455 171 points172 points  (31 children)

I actually just bought the game after I heard it was fixed. Only paid $30 and so far I’m having a blast

[–]haloagain 54 points55 points  (0 children)

I've liked it!

[–]Kamina_broPlayStation 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Bought it on Friday for $20 at Walmart and I’m having a good time so far. Just want that ps5 upgrade to come already.

[–]TerminallyOnlineLeft 37 points38 points  (1 child)

Same. Runs great on the Series X and the only bugs I came across are stuff you'd see in Fallout, Skyrim, or even Rdr2 due to how massive the games are.

[–]Rhiis 5 points6 points  (1 child)

It honestly wasn't that bad. It just wasn't even CLOSE to all the shit CDPR hyped us with for 8 years.

[–]pumpjockey 85 points86 points  (15 children)

Cyberpunk 2077 had many legitimate problems. Many people pointed out all of them. But, the one that noone complained about was the soundtrack. Been listening to that all morning while mowing. I'd say like 2 tracks tops are no good.

Right but is it as good as the Mechwarrior 2: Mercenaries sound track?

[–]pumpjockey 7 points8 points  (0 children)

guess i got a new soundtrack for my next mowing day

[–]Bladelink 2 points3 points  (1 child)

That's a mother fucking deep pull right there. M4 mercenaries is my fave still.

[–]Tara_is_a_Potato 17 points18 points  (3 children)

Enjoying the audio from Cyberpunk more than the sounds of mowing isn't really deep praise.

[–]bjt23PC 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The music is top notch.

[–]G-maxx 36 points37 points  (2 children)

why did you put so many copies of the game into your fridge?

[–]Dragneel2496 56 points57 points  (13 children)

I played outriders and encountered like zero game breaking bugs, so I figured I'd take my luck and try cyberpunk, same thing applied so far. Its actually a pretty good game, both were. I've enjoyed my time and don't regret the expense, but I feel for those who got ALL the bugs and payed full price. Now if only RNG would bless me IN my games lol.

[–]Martin_Aynull 20 points21 points  (10 children)

Well yeah Cyberpunk has had a lot of updates since release, its in a better state now, just like fo76, no mans sky, outriders etc.. It's just shitty that releasing busted ass games is becoming normalized and then they spend another year or so fixing it instead of actual new content.

[–]eeyore134 17 points18 points  (8 children)

I played day one and got some silly bugs like t-posing out of my car, but nothing game breaking or any crashes. That obviously wasn't everyone's experience, but it seemed no more buggy than any other major release to me.

[–]Halfsoulgamer 28 points29 points  (7 children)

Cyberpunk 2077 isn't actually a bad game not once have in any of the reviews I've seen has anybody criticized the game for being bad it was the bugs and crashing that pissed them off more. I actually own the game when it first came out still have it this is literally the definition of a good game being pushed out before it's ready

[–]lburwell99 19 points20 points  (2 children)

Glad I waited.

I have a 4yo and now a 7 month old who was born about the time the game came out. I had AC to play so figured eh I'll wait for the next gen update for my Series X and once paternity leave was over I knew my gaming time would be even more limited. Seems like a fun game if it would work, so I can wait even more. I never played Skyrim so been playing that on Gamepass like an hour at a time most nights, so slow going lol.

[–]Elad2007 10 points11 points  (1 child)

And the game was annonced before both of them were born.

[–]perc10 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I really loved this game. I get that people are irritated by the bugs and stuff. I pre-ordered for PC and was satisfied. I encountered some graphical glitches but nothing game breaking. Plus. The Pacific Dreams radio station is dope as fuck.

[–]crewchief535 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm pissed off about cyberpunk as much as the next guy but this is fucking stupid.

[–][deleted] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

1990 game devs "If our games end up dominating the shelf space at Best Buy, we'll know we're amazingly successful!"

2021 game devs "FML..."

[–]AlexS101 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This sub is truly the worst.

[–]escadan397 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Really not happy with how the company handled that mess. That said...loved the game. Had no issues. Played it through twice.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I worked in the electronics section of Walmart for years and the games stock those stores get is awful. Boxes and boxes of the same five "clearance" games and like 3 copies of the latest Call Of Duty. Never worked at Best Buy buy assuming it's the same

[–]Angdrambor 58 points59 points  (47 children)

People buy games in a store? Like a physical store? And that store is Best Buy?

What is this, 1999?

[–]somuchsoup 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My local bestbuy has long lineups on weekends

[–]ImNotFromTheInternet 20 points21 points  (4 children)

I went in 2 months ago and asked for a physical copy of flight simulator. Looked at me like i was a time traveler.

[–]RegularSrbotchetnik4 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The worker probably thought something along the lines of "WTF? Does this dude think we're Lockheed Martin or some shit? Where would we even keep one of those?"

[–]Flowery_Tea_Kitten 7 points8 points  (1 child)

All my PS5 and PS4 titles are physical releases

they're cheaper than the digitals - quite a bit in some cases.

[–]Olthoi_Eviscerator 12 points13 points  (5 children)

It's pretty sad how most people accept not actually owning physical copies of games anymore.

[–]ShnyMnstr 6 points7 points  (3 children)

I always go physical for switch waaaay cheaper

[–]Im_licking_cats 11 points12 points  (17 children)

Shut the fuck up dude

[–]Orion-The-King 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You know I played cyberpunk, the whole game and I got one thing to tell you....it’s pretty fucking awesome

[–]go_no_go 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Despite its flaws it is an amazing game

[–]kingjosiah92Switch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Still GOTY for me

[–]Yeah_But_Did_You_Die 5 points6 points  (6 children)

Man I can't wait to buy this game and play the shit out of it when it's actually finished and cheap in 2022.

[–][deleted] 38 points39 points  (24 children)

All hype but no sell.

[–]Flowery_Tea_Kitten 15 points16 points  (0 children)

They've sold MILLIONS of this game.

[–]MrACL 78 points79 points  (14 children)

Oh it fucking sold. That’s what’s so tragic, they deserved to lose their ass on this one.

[–]JimmyBoombox 7 points8 points  (5 children)

Except it did sell well. Millions were made when it released.
