(Minor spoilers for Kingmaker under spoiler tags)
Jarm is a shaman-apothecary kobold of the Sootscale tribe that I'm playing for a Kingmaker campaign! A native to the Stolen Lands, he seeks the opportunity to claim a territory in an officially-recognized capacity for his own ends.
Once one of the better-off Sootscales under the rule of Chief Sootscale, Jarm's position became more precarious as a mysterious, purple-scaled usurper laid claim to the tribe's leadership. After he made a botched assassination attempt (2d6 poison and sickened at max stages at level 1 :C), Jarm was run out of the tribe and exiled. He now goes adventuring to lick his wounds, gather mighty allies from the settlers of the Stolen Lands and surrounding kingdoms, and return to restore the true Chief's rule!
We're currently just level 2 so far, but I've been having a lot of fun working with a Toxicologist Alchemist! Jarm's interests lie somewhere between Kobold shamanic/apothecary practices and more conventional adventurers' alchemy; I tried to work in both with the Tinker background for traditional alchemy and the Talisman Dabbler Archetype for its mystical charms.
Apart from being a nice poison and elixir dispenser, Jarm sticks to playing support in fights, and has been a wonderful link to the Sootscales to RP with. For some reason, he also ended up with the highest Survival in our party despite that being an afterthought for me, which has been pretty useful during hexploration.
I take a bit of artistic liberty with Kobolds in PF2e and wherever else really, but hopefully his lineage to the Sootscales of Golarion still feels present.
Love it! Is there a story on why he wears the little bones? The skull is that a mouse? Very cool looking art.
They’re supposed to be charms and talismans! Mostly for his own good luck, but it was part of his duties to hand them out to other Kobolds in the tribe. He’s not sure what the skull is from. He’s not fond of getting his hands dirty, so the materials for the charms all come from the kills of other Kobolds.
Same here. Didn’t see it until well after completing the level. It’s possible to cheese it by just rushing for the time stop crystal after you burn the previous one doing two dashes to get from right to left, just in time for the door to be ajar enough to squeeze past.
According to normal psychologists, yes. But if you go batshit insane and want to listen to Freud it has to do with fear of castration…
I thought it indicated an interest in castration?
A decent amount of chemicals smell sweet I find.
Well, all sweet-smelling things are chemicals, after all.
POV: You are Agdistis
Alright campers, today’s challenge is going to be binding a voidsent to your will!
To be fair to the note: most final dungeon bosses aren't stunable in general. Suppose that makes sense in a way.
Notable exception in Qarn. Good for keeping the modest raidwide from going off
ihaveihaveihave: not heard of any of these games
