Harry/Gabrielle (Bigass age gap so it'd have to be significantly post-war) There's already a preexisting connection and they'd probably run into each other a decent amount after the war via family functions.

Harry/Demelza Robbins (Blank slate Ginny, similar arguments for Katie as well)

Harry/Alicia or Angelina (Same deal as Katie but slightly older)

Harry/Cho (There's no inherent reason that relationship had to implode like that, could also have them reconnect later and try again)

The Combined Bomber Offensive had a number of successes as identified by the United States Strategic Bombing Survey, some of which were identified as critical to the collapse of Germany, so that point isn't particularly correct.

As for why? Because they had bombers so they were going to use them. Even if the USAF didn't have particularly appropriate targets they still were going to use the resources they had.

I don't really understand that logic in this case. For Ukraine, Russias 2014 invasion of the Donbas presented a logical and plausible target for a buildup but for Taiwan? There's exactly zero credible scenarios where Taiwan engages in any sort of aggression against China. I do understand that China would claim that basically anything Taiwan does is escalatory though.

I haven't actually read that fic but Everlasting Ink by the same author is excellent as well. It's a one-shot from Ginny's perspective that addresses some of the complexities and trauma in her relationship with Harry, as a result of the war, and the events of her first year at Hogwarts. It's very fast-paced, jumping around non-chronologically to show various important moments in her life. I particularly enjoyed how taken for granted she feels at the start of her relationship with Harry and just how angry that makes her. I think the fic did a much better job accounting for what Voldemort did to Ginny during her first year as well, directly addressing the fact that something like that can be deeply traumatizing and that everybody basically forgot about it afterwards. I'm also a sucker for "Harry adopts Delphini" fics and this one does a great job of illustrating how selfish that decision can be, even if it's fundamentally altruistic.

It's almost certainly occurring in at least in some places along the front. I say almost only because I haven't personally seen video or similar.

A bit of both, Ukraine's army has serious consistency problems in it's leadership. Some sectors have competent leadership and some don't, in large part because Ukraine simply didn't have the officers to absorb as many men as have been mobilized. Some units are led by reserve officers dating from Soviet times with little to no refresher training. The failures that result from poor leadership are then highlighted by the Russians in as many camera angles as possible.

Edit: That thread by Tatarigami further illustrates how tight the timings are.

Based on experience, a trained unit can fully occupy their defensive positions within one to two minutes.

That's the window that attacking forces have to close on the trench.

And I get it, a lot of bashing fics can be juvenile, and obviously written by someone inexperienced, and yes, bashing does tend to come hand in hand with one-sided characters who basically behave like caricatures, but not ALL of them do.

IMO bashing necessarily features the flanderization of a character. Evil Ron isn't necessarily bashing at all. For example, That Glorious Strength features villainous Ron but it's presented in a plausible self-consistent manner and I'd never say it's a bashing fic. Evil Ron where nothing else is changed but suddenly he's a traitorous imbecile who can't eat food with his mouth closed? That's bashing and I'll happily deride it.

I agree that it's too much in that context but I also think that's part of what makes it interesting. The few fics that actually feature this pairing outside of harem crap just make Harry "very mature for his age" or some bullshit and pave over and ignore the problematic elements. In real life I'd be pretty upset if someone I knew were in a relationship like that but I think it's OK for fiction to look at things that might be otherwise unacceptable.

To use a real life example from early in the counteroffensive they mean for "we cannot synchronize artillery and infantry attacks often ending barrages several hours before infantry operations meaning enemy assets in the area are no longer suppressed by fires.

To give a real-life example of how tight the temporal tolerances are on something like this, in WWI when the creeping barrage was being innovated the British found that

"Experience has shown that it is far better to risk a few casualties from an occasional short round from our own artillery than to suffer the many casualties which occur when the bombardment is not closely followed up"

with advancing infantry less than 50m from the barrage front. The delay between the barrage progressing from a position and infantry moving reaching it was measured in single minutes. A delay of several hours means the barrage might as well not have happened at all.

It's a waste of explosives when things like MCLCs exist but in the end either method is useless for a proper de-mining effort because there's no reasonable certainty that the field is de-mined and the Ukrainians would have to go over the whole thing properly anyway just to be able to certify that it was clear. It's safer, faster, cheaper, and smarter to use proper de-mining tools rather than jury-rigged monstrosities.

Harry's botched spell during the First Task of the Triwizard Tournament transforms the fierce Hungarian Horntail into an only slightly less fierce woman. When Professor McGonagall insists he attend the Yule Ball and represent Hogwarts with dignity, he suddenly knows exactly who to invite as his date.

Also by Andrius is Twins which is a Harry/Carrow Twins fic

Desperate for a Yule Ball date, Harry asks the eerie Carrow twins to go with him and Ron. Somehow the evening ends with both Flora and Hestia on his arms.

What We Lost by AppoApples is a Harry/Andromeda Tonks fic that's especially rare in that it's not smut nor does it involve time travel.

If Harry had gone to see his godson after the Battle of Hogwarts, could Harry abandon Teddy like he had been abandoned? And how does Andromeda Tonks deal with the death of her husband and daughter? This is a story of broken people putting each other back together. No godmoding, no time travel, no Epilogue, no Cursed Child, no moving countries.

Finally some Harry/Female Voldemort fics. Harry/Voldie fics are a dime a dozen but genderbent voldemort is vastly more rare.

The Advantages of Being Sane by Leyrann

When Harry and Cedric grab the Cup, they are transported to a graveyard, where Harry witnesses the resurrection of Lady Voldemort... who isn't quite what he'd expected. For one, she isn't trying to kill him. For another, she doesn't seem to like the Death Eaters either.
