I didn't even mention electrical, fire, and plumbing codes! NEC, NFPA, IPC, the list goes on... these are all individual codes that the IBC and IRC rely on. You'll find that many of their texts are adopted straight from them verbatim.

I got tested on the IRC and the NFPA 211, these 2 are where my personal experience lie, but some of my more advanced peers have had further testing confuse things. We basically want things to follow at least some code.

In my personal experience, the code doesn't always accurately reflect real life,

Very few chimneys were/are properly built, and nobody know how to use their shit properly, I'm amazed more people don't light their houses on fire.

I call it my, "living room gun", because I work on fireplaces, usually in people's living rooms, but my 637 is so comfortable to carry.

Like I said in the other post, knives should be seen, not felt. Flashlights on the other hand....still aren't as good as a .38 special for self defense.

Knives should be felt, not scene, and are the last thing I would use for defense. When I'm out of ammo, I'd rather use my pistol as a club.

What I really want to know is why there's so much conflicting and sometimes contradiction information between codes. I mean, I know why, but I don't get it.

Those terms are cringey AF, but I have a hard time taking these statements seriously from the organization which provided explosives in the MOVE bombing.

Not saying your wrong, especially in regards to the pool, and I just recently got tested on the IRC for my job as a fireplace/Chimney tech, not the IBC. Most people inspecting, maintaining, and sometimes building chimneys will probably be going off the IRC.

A lot of engineers put many hours getting that smoke in there, and not it's out.

I think this might fall under the IRC, not the IBC, and there is not guarantee the local municipality does anything at all to enforce codes, it's not a requirement.

Yesterday was NTD, added a circular saw and a wet/dry vac to the collection. by BenderIsGreat64 in Dewalt

[–]BenderIsGreat64[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, just a 20v, but its got power-detect, so the saw does benefit from 60v batteries. They do make a 60v saw, but I'm not ready to break into those just yet.

Like I said, it does what I ask. I need it to suck up saw dust or similar in places I don't have power. It's convenient, if I need something more powerful, I'll plug it in.

Investing in axes. What brand? by theseawoof in axe

[–]BenderIsGreat64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My most frequently used axe is an old Keen Kutter carpenters harchet. my dad bought second hand before I was born. Theres a shit ton out there still, and seeing as the name hasn't been used since like 1940, I'd say they're durable.

AFAIK, New hope has the only tourist line in Bucks, but it doesn't take you kayaking.

Yeah, I'm just ranting because I install gas and wood stoves, so NY state doesn't want me to work.

That is absolute BS, wood is carbon neutral if you manage the forests properly, and thats ignoring the abundance of ash wood from the EAB infestation.

Wood stoves are not super difficult to install, EPA was giving pretty good tax incentives, or something, to help offset the costs. And if you already have an open fireplace, an insert can make them an actual heat source.
