Two Japanese women came up to me to chat as I was waiting on the street. They seemd friendly and somehow I got talked into joining a buddhist experience tomorrow. They said it‘s free and takes about 3 hours. They also gave me a paper where people who have participated before talk about their experience.
I am a naturally paranoid person and wanted to check if anyone knows more about this sort of thing and whether it‘s legit or if it could be a tourist scam?
Edit: Thank you all for your comments and the insights on what this is. After careful consideration, I shall definitey not attend and have blocked them on LINE.

When the temperature outside is a perfect 22 degrees, but they start blasting the heat inside the busses and trains. Thought I could take a nap in my commute but it's a sauna inside the bus, I opened the window and some obasan looked at me like I'm a devil. 市バス more like shitty bus amirite.
