Starlink Viability for STR
❓ Question

Hey everyone,

I run a STR (Short Term Rental)* in a somewhat remote area of NC, and currently am on a metered T-Mobile 5G home internet plan for my guests. The issue, other than price, with T-Mobile's offering is that the wireless gateway they provided seems to need to be restarted fairly frequently (I'm assuming due to the cache building up because of the amount of guests staying at the cabin).

I don't want to have to walk through troubleshooting a router with a guest/my cleaner again so I was wondering if anyone has experience running a STR with Starlink and if the issues that pop up (if there are any) are relatively easy to fix? Restarting the router every so often is a bit of a pain because we have lights/other devices that run on wifi and glitch out/need to be reconnected each time. Thanks in advance for any info you all can provide.

None are in use, they're all sealed - thanks for the response, I'm hoping to find a solution that doesn't cost a ton of money but it's not looking good ha.

Old House - Water is Seeping through Side of Chimney

So we have a very old house in New Orleans, and have noticed that the walls around the side of our brick chimneys are damp. The moisture is only noticeable on the lower ~4 feet of the wall. We cut a hole in the wall to see where the water was coming in and it appears to be seeping through the mortar of the chimney. It's hard to be 100% certain as there is a beam flush alongside the chimney - but I did shove some paper between the beam and chimney and it seems water is accumulating there. We have three chimneys and this issue seems to be occurring in all of them. Here's a picture of what I'm talking about. Here's a picture of what I'm talking about

We recently had our roof redone and there doesn't appear to be any moisture coming through the outside of the chimney in the attic and there's no moisture accumulating on the ceiling - this along with the moisture I've noticed along the side of the chimney makes me think it is seeping through somehow? I'm kind of at a loss, if the chimney needs to be re-capped then why is moisture only occurring near the bottom of the chimney? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

What are these? Visiting the area and I've seen them on various buildings/houses - they're not all the exact same design but they're similar, was wondering what the significance was if there is any.
