So all the depositors keep all their money, the bank that fucked up gets destroyed, and the only people who lose are shareholders of the bank and it's senior management.

Agreed 100%. Absolutely ideal response from the FDIC. Hundreds of thousands of people may have lost their jobs if that money wasn’t freed up in a timely manner.

Hopefully this all works out. Really sad to see the ICE become villainized over the past years because of environmentalists and lobbyists. I agree with Blume in that if there are viable alternatives to fossil fuels, politics should not be in the way of adopting something like e-fuel. Obviously I know that money paid to politicians is the biggest road block in the path of saving the ICE.
