People forget that literally a century ago, kids used to die to the winter and to common diseases that we have vaccines and medication for, if they survived childbirth that is. Whole families would slave away on farms with not enough rooms and barely have enough to make it through the winter, forget luxeries, entertainment, or trips... these types of posts will never cease to amaze me how good life is, and people still complain about how they weren't born in the 1960s-1980s so boohoo poor them.

I am the father of three in my early 30s, making average salary, raised in misery, never had a father, and I came from a third-world country. Having kids isn't for everyone, but it is by far the most meaningful thing I did. Ultimately, if you don't want kids, that's your choice, but we are living arguably the wealthiest and with the most safety nets in human history (a few decades aside), so let's stop trying to have these pity parties where our life is out of our control and everything sucks.
