The 90s also were the build up of our biggest threats over the last 20 years. Bin Ladin was recruiting and targeting the US and while Clinton’s administration was more focused after the USS Cole bombing, the 2000 election caused a lot of disruption and the W administration was unable to prevent 9/11.

The 90’s also saw Ruby Ridge and Waco mobilize the far right and militia movements. They too had terroristic actions during the 90s in OKC bombing and the bombing of several abortion clinics but they started on Islamophobia after 9/11 but as the war became a failure they turned domestically with Obama’s election and the populist movement starting with the tea party evolved into the maga movement that would go on to storm the capital.
