G'day
I'm in Australia and I've tried sending some gifts to my friends in Guatemala, and am having all sorts of difficulties.
The first time I sent something I used the express option we have here and that seemed to go smoothly as it was handled by DHL once it arrived in Guatemala.
The last three items seem to have hit walls once they arrive and I've just realised that the "standard/non-express" option here seems to opt for the postal service and not DHL.
Also, I tried to send some AirPods as a gift and the package arrived with those missing. Apparently the post office is investigating but I don't hold much hope. I tried to order these directly from iShop but after the order was confirmed I received an email stating the order was cancelled. My friend told me they called and informed her that the order cannot be placed unless the credit card is Guatemalan?
So I have two questions.
Does anyone have any general tips for sending parcels to Guatemala?
In the case of AirPods what would be the best way to get this gift to my friend?
Thanks
There is no functional postal service in Guatemala. Your packages and your airpods are probably gone. Use only private couriers or PO BOX services through the US, this option might be cheaper than lets say dhl.
Thanks. It's good to know that now. 👍
Any advice on ordering something for local delivery, that is, are there alternatives to iShop that I could use?
There actually is a Post Office in Guatemala. If your packages have not arrived I would check there. The post service is unreliable and if you bring in anything of value, you either have to pay taxes or it will be missing as with your AirPods. I've ordered things from europe on a regular basis and when they don't get delivered it means that they are being held in the central Post Office.
I would suggest that you use a freight forwarder with door to door option. A freight forwarder for Australia will be a tough one, though. I think DHL will be your safest bet, if a little expensive
Thanks mate 👍

I don't know about this. I've been watching Reddit and trying to work out how much of the population this demographic represents. These child adults are petrified, they would capitulate in a moment and surrender everything because nothing is sacred to them, see Covid. They are so far removed from reality that this type of event is a complete shock for them.
They'd be relying on patriots to do the fighting. Conservatism needs more of these moments to serve as a reality check for those brainwashed by the left. War is never going away, that's why we should depart from values that protect society.

oh fuck you. i’ve worked this pandemic since the beginning. i’ve administered regeneron. i’ve administered vaccines. no one ever forced anyone to do shit and that’s exactly the problem. 700,000 dead just in america. force and ridicule… anyone not getting a vaccine for whatever fill in the blank bullshit reason short of an allergic reaction to it is a fucking jackass. both my grandparents dead. friend’s mom dead. all because we put ourselves before the population. yeah you can read this over and over again: fuck you. fuck all of you. i hope you get covid and have a bad time… and then come crawling and calling my clinic begging for regeneron like the rest of your ilk because you listened to some fuck with orange skin or a puppet on fox news tell you otherwise. i’ll lend you some toilet paper for you to cry into. get bent.
Oh fuck you. You're not some kind of hero.
"Not sure why so many are crooked?" It's because for every superhero there's a supervillain.
Don't ask questions or think for yourself you dirty Anit-Vaxxer, just worship the all mighty Pfizer! 🙌 What's that old saying? 'Get jabbed now, ask questions later'
That's right. And apparently those hesitant (for a variety of reasons, that are frankly between them and their GP) are now scum. But, I would question those so willing to throw us under the bus, unwilling to discuss or listen, disparaging entire groups of people and treating them as less than human, consider what you've become.
Thats how life should be imo, citylife sucks
I just love those rural American videos.
I've sociologists talk about a critical mass where cities just become crime-ridden cesspools. It makes sense that a town represent a tribe with an organic cap.
