In pro games where trilanes happen, generally the supports will gang mid, rather than the mid gang other lanes, then heroes like hag can destroy trilane supports at level 7 onward with the huge damage from sonar for example. It's different in a pub game so i'll try and address that.

In a pub you will want to gang from particular runes. Ganging side lanes from mid is pretty hard (not as efficient as staying mid) to do without rune control, so you either need a blink/leap hero with some wards (which you said you pick), otherwise pick one rune and hope it's yours. If you can get something like a haste (best/fastest) or DD/invis then regen (worst for gangs but can still work). So you bottle the rune and want to gang, but you have to see how far the close side lane is pushed, if your teammates have pushed it to the enemy tower, don't bother ganging unless you have heroes that can dive and decide you can kill and not lose anyone, otherwise don't waste time which will leave the enemy mid to freefarm or push. Also grab a tp once you have something like your bottle&boots, so you can tp gang at your strong levels of 7-10 (advantage over the 5-8 level sidelanes. If you die mid, a tp gang double kill on a sidelane can bring you back to speed and help your sidelane win.

Oh and if you successfully gang a sidelane, please don't stay and steal farm/xp (so annoying haha), grab a tp and go straight back mid to stop their farm or push, or back to base then tp mid if you are low on hp/mana.

Another trick to control runes as a solo pub, is to push the creep wave around the 1/4/5:50 mark so that if the enemy mid hero leaves mid he will be giving up lots of XP as the tower will clear the wave quickly, allowing you to go to runes as get full XP from the creep waves mid.

I watched your hag game briefly, which you listed and your team didn't buy a courier and you couldn't get your bottle. You NEED a courier (more than wards), it's essential for mid. And did that enemy nymph seriously buy like 6 wards to stop a jungle pred who laned? LOL.

I only watched your reply real quick at fast speed but just based on that one game it seems like you don't make a habit of carrying tp's, which are essential for gangs. TP gangs can turn around so many early/mid game fights and provide you with lots of XP and gold, as well as potentially saving a teammate while killing an enemy rather than losing one or to teammates.

ESPECIALLY on a hero like hag, which is so good at counter ganging. TP TP TP always, most essential item in the game!
