It’s a stupid argument. The whole productivity piece is bull shit. Businesses are making record profits, clearly their staff are productive.
If we keep selling eveything to china they wont have to invade, they'll own it already.
Not to mention the soft power of their migration. It’s a very smart move to encourage migration to the five eyes countries. Look at how Chinese voters now respond to negative rhetoric against China.
I mean, I'd watch a prequel series about Ro's investigation into the shenanigans at Starfleet and being drinking buddies with Worf.
I'd watch the hell out of that.
Section 31 is unlikely now Michelle has an oscar. Why not rebadge it with Ro and Worf?
I want a full 7-season series of Captain Shaw getting dragged into random crap that has nothing to do with him or the official mission briefings given to him by Starfleet.
All I can picture now is him piloting the Cerritos when it fly’s away from the borg in the lower decks opening.
At this point, after finding out Changelings are even better at replacing people, he seriously has no idea who to trust. It's probably even worse now that he has Ro's info. There's no safe reinforcements to call right now....
...except Janeway. She's never gonna be evil. She eats Changelings for breakfast with her morning coffee.....
Considering how many times Janeways name has been dropped if we don’t get her on even a view screen I’ll riot.
Season 3 works because it is fan service done properly. No one was expecting TNG 20 years later but they wanted a continuation of the story. The show kicking off with season 3 would of been far better. It’s fan service without being shoved down our throats.
Mankind has populated the earth and an untold number of colonies, with the vast majority of these planets existing in a supreme state of safety. What does such a secure position do to a species? To its individual members?
I speculate that Star Trek implies that many people would seek out new, exciting, meaningful, and, yes, extremely dangerous careers in pursuit of incredible experiences, and as a way of contributing to humanity beyond simply breeding; With the proliferation of humanity all but guaranteed, quality reigns over quantity.
And it gives those kids something to focus there energy on without impacting the rest of society.
