Of course there's more moderate possible successors to Putin but they would have to win the internal power struggle, so they'd need the support of the military and the FSB - not a great chance.

And nobody ever said we should keep Putin in place because his successor might be worse. That somehow happened in your head. But getting rid of Putin will not magically end this war - that's something people need to understand.
