In transport planning there's currently a dichotomy between the old fashioned "Predict and Provide" which just results in more and roads and traffic and the new "Vision and Validate" where you decide how you want an area to actually be and then validate the outcomes.

House prices going down? by Unfair-Drummer-9230 in HousingUK

[–]acevialli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've not got any hard data, but I find it to difficult to believe that relative affordability hasn't changed. My grandparents stayed at home for a few years to buy a house, but were on the ladder by their early 20s, my parents were on the ladder by mid 20s, I was mid 30s. I'm sure I read that house prices to wages has also increased significantly.

I've said for 20 years that house prices are unsustainable and must fall to realistic levels one day...I'm sure I'll be proved right at sometime, maybe

I've also thought this for a while. Be proud of MK City. Honestly I don't see any negatives as no one really thinks MK Don's are Wimbledon FC anyway.

I cut my knee badly on a broken beer bottle playing football in the park. My mate ran to the phone box to call my parents, then ran back asking if I had any change as he only had a quid!

An absolute beast of a player. Used to love seeing him at Harlington. He also had Van Basten come along for a training session.

It's banks who've made the real money by lending against inflated mortgages. Should have kept to 3 times salary and we'd all be sorted!
