If I lived in a foreign country for 5 years and had a bad overall experience, is it okay to hate the country and its people? by _-----_--- in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Priamosish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can hate the country, you can hate the culture, but you shouldn't let this make you hate the individual. Imagine it was the other way around, would you find it justified that someone hated you based on an arbitrary, selective experience they had that had nothing to do with you?

How does any of that contradict what I said? You're not telling us anything new by revealing doctors, lawyers, and managers make money.

113.000 does not make you rich at all in this country.

I think you and I have very different ideas of what wealth means. Brushing off upper middle class comfort as if it was nothing really shows at best that you're out of touch how most people live.

Besides, the question was who buys these nice cars. I provided an answer based on a lifetime of experience. And nobody said Lamborghini urus either, OP said Porsche and Bentley.

Bachelors are just below with 91,600 (employee) and 96,000 (civil servant) after 15 years of work experience.

Masters reach 107,000 after 11 years (employee) and 113,000 (civil servant).

That's for a single person. Now factor in that a lot of them have spouses in the adminiatration and a good chunk inherits land, houses, and other wealth. So let's hold back on the pity party just yet...

Plenty of state employees and civil servants. I've grown up here and the share of people who got cheap/inherited housing + inherited wealth + a cushy 6-figure job they cant be fired from is very big amongst us natives. I'm sadly not one of them. It's nothing special for many of them to also have 2nd or 3rd appartments or to be enjoying hobbies like collecting old fancy cars or motorbikes.

Do you have any idea how little that narrows it down?

That's because most people want to be the guys kicking.

When in reality we're all just at risk of being kicked.

I don't know if you understand, but in the real world people need healthcare. And that doesn't make one a narcissist.

By our Luxembourg standards, where this is filmed, this is an unforgivable instance of society collapsing. Seriously, I take the bus here every day and it is quiet and clean, people help mothers haul in baby strollers (most buses are higher than this), and the loudest thing you'll hear most of the time is the bus radio quietly playing.

Point being this is a very rare occasion of public craziness that will be met with the full wrath of a scornful gaze and a slight lowering of the mouth's angles.

Subsidies? My guy the aviation sector in Europe is under much more pressure from both other companies and governments. Profit margins are much lower than elsewhere.

Thanks for the interesting question.

I think people would be surprised how limited our life in Luxembourg is. Like I maybe went up north into the Ardennes a dozen times in my life.

Do I have to be de jure all the way up? Or is it enough to be the de jure duke of a count but not their king?

i still can't understand why america nowadays is where most neo nazis come from

No idea why a community founded on the eradication of one race and the enslavement of another, while worshipping militarism, religious extremism, and unmitigated capitalism would ever do that either. It truly is a mystery.

Maybe because it's in the picture.

But I guess for people of your kind being able to read is an outrageous achievement.
