Looks like chitin is a glucosamine chain. As it's mostly a poly-saccharide, my guess is it will start to break down like a carbohydrate (sugar, starch) would. Acryl compounds would also be formed because of the amino groups so maybe some acrylamide type compounds.

Can you give some examples of what that might look like?

The best known polysaccharaide that can't be broken down easily and is not water soluble is cellulose.

So plant fiber that's been dry heated till its crunchy.

Maybe like kale chips, but brown.

Cell Phones were commonly used to describe the old analog phones like the ones from the 80s movies like Wall Street.

When they switched to digital phones in the 1990s, Motorola and the other manufacturers together with the FCC called this new digital network 'Personal Communication Services' (PCS). This phone is compatible with the early 2g networks so it is a Digital Personal Communicator.

Tons of francophone Irish all through Quebec.

Including former Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney, Premiers of Quebec Daniel Johnson Sr. and Jr. and Jr.'s brother Pierre who was leader of the Separatist PQ party.

Here's a little History Minute about it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H48gaLbJfxc

I wonder if he was drunk in that photo. He was behind the wheel so there is a decent chance.

The thing about the demon core incidents is that having two people there doesn't help in any way and just would've gotten two people killed instead of one

We could also say that about pretty much any airline crash where both pilots were killed. The point in these cases is often not that the second guy helps survivability first guy survive after an incident happens. Its that a second set of eyes spots signs of trouble before an irreversible incident occurs.

After that point, you could have 100 people watching the person and getting killed along side them.

Did you read up on what these experiments actually entailed and how instantaneously they went wrong? It's nothing like piloting a plane and no you couldn't 'spot the trouble before it happens'.

Even this is totally false, if something goes wrong it absolutely substantially helps and is borderline essential to have people multitasking steering and throttles Vs running diagnostics or contacting ATC in a plane, they literally have protocols for splitting that up. It's nothing like these experiments which were absolutely one man jobs.

These experiments would not be done in the same way if proper procedures for peer review of experimental design existed back then. What we had here is a bunch of overconfident dudes looking to show their machismo but pushing the envelope of how they did things.

Regardting Slotin.

The dude used a flathead screwdriver instead of the purpose engineered shims to keep the masses from initiating a chain reaction.

From Wiki:

Enrico Fermi reportedly told Slotin and others they would be "dead within a year" if they continued performing the test in that manner.
