DO NOT USE Bell Canada by TheGraphicsJedi in brantford

Enable wifi calling on your phone. Don't do much for your lousy service, but you'll at least be able to use your phone when connected with wifi.

I'm with Koodo and my reception is shit and I'm stuck until my phone is paid off, but wifi calling helps a ton.

Heroic. Lutris too, but Heroic worked better for me. Haven't tested MiniGalaxy but it's also an option.

I eventually want to do a pair and figured I could use some thin memory foam. Neoprene would be a good idea too.

I'd be down if I didn't have a 9-month old, I have zero time... Maybe down the road.

There are a couple of gaming stores in town, The Devil's Bench and Heads Or Tails Gaming. I'd imagine either of them would be a decent place to find a group.

MyMechanics - Datsun 240Z - Car Restoration (26:32) by UltimateRealist in ArtisanVideos

[–]jacksclevername 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got it? Ronald Finger on YouTube. It's a different format than MyMechanics but he goes into alot of mechanical depth about a specific part of the car each video. At some point I want to refurbish my window motors and I'll be leaning heavily on that video.

I'm not into bikes, but his Kawasaki series is great too. The ongoing garage restoration is also worth a watch.

SFFPC with Built-In Switch Dock? by ETrumpeter in sffpc

[–]jacksclevername 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just looking at 3D printable wall mounts for my Steamdeck, and there were a few that were set up to fit into a pegboard. The perforations on the side panels on my NR200, while obviously not in the same configuration as a pegboard, are about the same size and uniform across the panel - I'm sure it's the same for plenty of other cases.

As long as you're not blocking airflow, I don't see any reason why you couldn't redesign an existing Switch mount to fit into existing vents/perforations of a similarly-shaped case.

Between MyMechanics and Ronald Finger both restoring Datsuns, there's gonna be a treasure trove of video documentation on the restoration process.

I'm sure there already is, I think any enthusiast car will have a ton of info floating around, but having high-quality video of the process is so immensely helpful. I've got a Mera and Ronald's Fiero series is such a godsend.

What controllers do you use for Steam Deck. Me: Yes! by Immediate-Patience35 in SteamDeck

I grabbed 2 for next to nothing after Stadia folded, in anticipation of buying a SD.

Say what you want about Stadia, but the controllers are pretty decent. I find them very comfortable.

As someone who works from home and is a PC Gamer at the same desk - I can now finally play games on my couch/bed, loving every second with my new Deck! by LeKanePetit in SteamDeck

[–]jacksclevername 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Big reason I wanted one. I've been working from home for like 8 years and really don't like spending my leisure time at my desk, despite the amount of money I spent on my gaming pc..

Plus a 9 month old, time is precious and I want to park my ass on the couch in the evening while my fiancée watches her shows.

How to recreate this covered belt buckle by Ninja_Doc2000 in Leathercraft

[–]jacksclevername 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The video and link I posted all have the stitching top-down (assuming the buckle is laying flat). I don't know if you'd have enough thickness in the buckle to get a butt or corset stitch to sit properly. Like you can corset or butt stitch a steering wheel, because you've got enough circumference in the wheel that the leather meets wraps around and meets itself on the cut edge. I don't know if you could swing that on a normal-sized belt buckle.

You could also try wet forming it, the water wouldn't hurt a brass buckle.

I found this video promoting this guy's course and this site with some examples.

Can't say with any level of expertise here, but I'd actually bit it's fairly similar to wrapping a steering wheel. A long strip wrapped around a solid ring. I'd start there.

[Epic] Guacamelee 2 and Guacamelee Super Turbo Championship Edition (100%/Free) by anothergamerGG in GameDeals

Can't speak to the second one, but the first one was great. I'm not even particularly interested in metroidvanias and really enjoyed it. It's worth trying at the very least.

Divinity Original Sin 2 looks and runs beautifully on the Deck, and currently at a historical low £11.99 ($17.99 USD) by GameStunts in SteamDeck

[–]jacksclevername 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Download DOS2 with Heroic, then in the game settings in Heroic set your proton version (I've got GE Proton 8-4) and use the built-in Winetricks plugin (also in the game settings) to install dotnetcore3 and dotnetcoredesktop3 (Windows DLL/component section).

Then install Boilr (from Discover in desktop mode), then in Boilr's settings find the "always launch through Heroic" checkbox and import DOS2 into Steam.

It's a pretty clunky way to do it, but I've currently got it up and running. Using Boilr will let you run it through Heroic with your various settings, as opposed to Steam just trying to run the file with proton.

Edit: Someone else mentioned this but for posterity: in Heroic's game settings under Other, set the alternative exe to DefEd/bin/EoCApp.exe to skip the Larian launcher. The launcher was super buggy for me and I was unable to actually use it to launch the game, skipping it entirely does the trick.

KDE Connect and large files with Steam Deck by Drew_Habits in SteamDeck

[–]jacksclevername 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Set up a network share on your PC, then access it from Desktop Mode on your Deck. The same folder will exist on both devices, and you can use it for storage or transfers. I have a NAS for media and storage so I just used an existing folder for transfers, so I can't advise on how to do it on a PC specifically, but there are a few threads about it (here's one).

Here's another one that uses SSH with WinSCP, which I'll try later since I own it already. Quick edit, looks like there might be some inherent security risks here so I'm not gonna bother. Still, it's an option.

Pattern minutiae by ramblinmuttco in Leatherworking

Cheat it, starting from the top of the t-pockets down on each side. One stitch overhanging the top, then 2 per pocket spaced evenly, then your standard 3.85 from the bottom-most pocket onwards, then meet somewhere in the middle and cheat in another stitch if you need to.

I bought the super deluxe steam deck, and kept it stock. by Quinquilharia in SteamDeck

[–]jacksclevername 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the 64GB and swapped in the Sabrent 1TB, bought a dock and a pair of used Stadia controllers.

I'll eventually wall-mount it behind my TV so I'll grab the Deckmate wall-mount kit and another USB hub to interface with the TV and charge everything.

Have you ever had a dream that felt so good and 100% realistic, but you woke up in the middle of it and realised that It was just a dream? What was the dream like? by [deleted] in AskReddit

One morning I dreamt that I woke up at my usual wake-up time, got out of bed, got dressed and went about my day. Then I actually woke up and have no clue what the fuck was going on.
