One of the restaurants I loved that sold only vegan Indian food just started selling 2 chicken dishes and a paneer dish, presumably because they’re not making enough money. They also put them at the top of the menu and charge a dollar more for the carnist options.
I asked the owner and they said “we sold only vegan food for 10 or 11 years but people would come in with their non-vegan friends and leave. It’s not our passion to make the non-vegan food.”
It makes me angry though and like I don’t want to come here anymore. This despite the fact I don’t mind getting the plant-based option at non-vegan chains when I don’t have a solely vegan option available.
I guess it feels like a betrayal or something but am I wrong for feeling this way?
