Sounds like me as a kid, except I lived in the straddle generation between the new world and the old - born in 85. Learned to read when I was 3 and I was ravenous for literature (not all great) from then until the advent of the internet revolution. I still read, but nothing like those early days. Honestly I yearn for the return of that kind of life. Seems almost impossible to live without technology or a smart phone nowadays.
