Duuuuuuuude Weapon Training is perfect. Reminds me of the paladin’s auras as a potent, flavorful ability that rewards camaraderie and will make parties feel extra blessed to have a Fighter on their side.

The Wizard’s spell creation is gated by time and money, but I would gate it further by only allowing them to have 1 created spell and 1 modified spell (and maybe get the ability to hold more at like level 14 and 18, removing the Spell Mastery feats). I think that limiting the Wizard’s ability to change spells to a much smaller range than the Sorc would preserve the Sorc’s ability to augment everything and keep a pretty cool new tool for Wizards.

One big unnoticed change is to pact of the blade - at 5th level you get extra attack so you don’t have to pay the invocation tax anymore. Additionally all 3 pactboons get an “improvement” invocation at 9th level which evens them out!

That’s just how it is for a band with 1 album (and a hyped up band that gets to play a bunch of festivals).

They’ll do better in the long run to not rush into a sophomore album for some new hits to throw into the lineup.

I’m trying to think how to elegantly do a Wizard subclass that amplifies all of the 8 schools of magic. Probably something like:

Prof Bonus per day you can cast a spell from your spell school without expending a spell slot. This spell must be equal to half you Wizard level. Or casting spells from your school add a minor buff to you based on your school.

I think it would tough to write out in a way that makes each school feel as distinct as the 5e Wizard. I might just let OneDnd Wizards still take the 5e Subclasses in my games (some of that backwards compatibility)!
