This has to succeed to set a precedent. We know the pot now. If the PFL/Francis pull this off it will change MMA forever. If they end up throwing a bunch of money and leverage at a guy that can draw or run a company then it’ll act as the golden example of why the UFC’s business model is “the best way” or “the only right way.” This is a high stakes move for the entire industry.

I still feel like Topuria is very much overrated and Emmett is underrated(somewhat). If the odds are even come fight time I’m going heavy on Emmett.

That said I do find Topuria and the hype he has very exciting. Best time line is I get and egg on the face and he is the beast a lot of people are claiming he is. If he flat lines Emmett sign me right the hell up for Topuria vs Volk/Yair winner.

Honestly though, good. The judging and reffing in MMA is so behind the progress of the talent and business.

That ref standing Stamann up after being up kicked was inexplicable. Take that dude’s license and let him restest in a year. Wasn’t a heat of the moment accident where the action was just to fast to make a reasonable call. It was just pure incompetence.

Oh man I’ve trained at gyms all over the country throughout the years. Main gym would be a small gym with some good talent. Main training partner fought for the UFC LHW title. Had another 205er who was a killer and 5-0 all first round finishes but retired to be a family man. Great gym if you’re MW-HW.

I’ve been saying his Jones fight is not impressive at all. He never tried to win. A good fighter strictly trying not to get finished it pretty tough to look impressive against.

Haha damn, good read sir. I actually like Ian because of the similarities in our striking styles. His of course being way more refined. But when I was competing I was a gym killer that never could replicate on competition day. Seems like Ian is ironing that issue out well.
