Alexa Nikolas, of Zoey 101 fame, accuses Jonah Hill of assaulting her at a party hosted by Justin Long when she was 16 by cynicalxidealist in entertainment

I actually found that whole character and storyline unfunny and boring. Don’t get me wrong I love letterkenny and making fun of alt right groups and individuals is usually funny but none of the jokes from that character really landed with me like other stuff on that show does.

It could be that and a mixture of unselfish foreplay. 🤷🏾‍♂️

Those are closer to box braids. Cornrows are braids that are basically on the scalp like Kawhi or old school Allen Iverson.

Yeah I mean effort is effort but there are levels to this shit. I worked hard at my game growing up but other people worked harder. All so they could end up on a Deandre Jordan poster lol

I don’t agree with calling them psychopaths but when comparing it to how someone wants a normal job vs how much someone wants to be a pro athlete, there is a clear difference between effort and time put in.

Well Ted said his goal was to help these young men become better versions of themselves regardless of if they win or lose. So yeah that’s been the point of the story from my perspective.

Tristan Thompson on Mario Chalmers comments on LeBron: "That sh*t pissed me off... guys be on some sucka sh*t" by TheRealPdGaming in nba

Dude, you’re missing the point entirely. My point was that saying someone sounds like a different race of people can be offensive and anyone would be well within their rights to view it as offensive. You’re getting stuck on whether or not someone’s speech patterns could ever be used to determine where someone is from or what their race is. I’m not saying it can’t be used, I’m saying it doesn’t tell the whole story and would be ignorant to rely solely on that factor to determine someone’s race.

Puerto Rico is only 8% black and Cuba is about 9% who identify as Afro Cuban. The majority is White Spanish descent. The Dominican Republic is the only one you mentioned with a majority Black population. But what is funny is you’re proving my point. If I got connected to a call center in a Spanish speaking country I shouldn’t assume race based off of accents and speech patterns.

[–]devon619 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Accents are determined by what environment you are raised in. You just gave me anecdotal evidence and then offered the name of a study without anything to really back it up. I mean using your example if I I was raised in San Juan Puerto Rico my entire life and spoke Spanish, would I be more likely to sound like what you would expect a black man to sound like or would I sound like I’m from Puerto Rico?

Because it should be offensive. The way we sound is a product of our environment, not our racial background. Someone telling you that you sound white is low key racist.

[Wojnarowski] Reporting with @ESPN_MacMahon: Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant has entered a counseling program in Florida and there remains no timetable for his return to active play. by ILoveMasterYi in nba

Lol I feel like a lot of people are taking my comment as writing off mental illness as not being a real factor in people’s lives. I’m just saying he’s acting like an entitled young man with too much time and money would act if they had little to no supervision. But now that his behavior is threatening his pay day, he’s suddenly in need of counseling? Just seems convenient.
