What’s new in Brave?

Vertical tabs on desktop

Experience a whole new way to manage open tabs in your browser, with Brave’s vertical tabs feature. Vertical tabs help eliminate overcrowding in your browser window, and increase your on-screen real estate.

To get started, right-click any existing tab and choose the Vertical tabs option, or visit brave://settings/appearance and select Vertical tabs.

Web Discovery Project

Help make Brave Search results better for you…and all Brave users.

Brave Search recently removed all 3rd-party data calls to Bing and became a 100% independent search engine. To stay truly independent and continue improving Brave Search, we need to constantly refresh the index. To that end, we’ve created the Web Discovery Project.

The Web Discovery Project allows Brave users to contribute anonymous browsing data directly to the Brave Search index. The more people opt in, the better the engine gets, and the better the results. It also supports our mission of building a privacy-first search experience, one that’s truly independent of Big Tech, but can still compete on quality, completeness, and nuance.

Ready to support Brave’s mission? Just visit brave://settings/?search=web+discovery+project to enable the Web Discovery Project.

VPN

Use Brave VPN on desktop

Brave VPN encrypts and protects anything you do online, even outside the Brave browser. That’s every app, on your entire device. Now, you can protect up to 5 devices on a single subscription, across desktop, Android, and iOS.

To get started on desktop, just tap the VPN icon that appears in the address bar. To get started on mobile, open Brave Settings and toggle VPN to On.

Privacy

Cookie consent notification blocking

You know those annoying cookie consent notices that pop up every time you visit a new website? New versions of Brave can hide and—where possible—completely block them. Just update to the latest version of Brave.

If you miss the prompt to block cookie consents the first time, you can visit brave://settings/shields/filters and easily enable / disable the EasyList-Cookie List option.

News

Free, personalized news feed and RSS reader in Brave

Want to keep up with current events? Just open a new tab in Brave, and scroll up. With Brave News, you can customize your very own news feed right in the browser. Pick from a list of sources curated by Brave, or add your own.

Your personal feed updates automatically throughout the day, and will surface the top trending stories to help you stay informed without compromising on privacy.
