I often see takes treating Tommy with anger for this. But hardly anyone acknowledges that he’s been completely fucking broken by the whole situation and his life has crumbled to pieces. The second chance he thought Jackson gave him evaporated before his very eyes.
I’m sure the guilt he feels about Joel and Jesse is more than anyone else feels. All he’s left with is making Abby pay. And when he goes to the only person who might feel like him (Ellie), she looks away from him.
I feel fucking bad for Tommy. Because both he and Ellie are truly alone after the events of part 2, I hope a potential part 3 will give him and Ellie a way to heal after all this. Maybe Ellie will lie to him and tell him she killed Abby and they’ll be drifters across the country together. Idk.
