Low-effort posts include, but are not limited to:
Collection/haul posts
Short or vague recommendation requests
Price checks, "Should I buy", "Where can I buy" or "Is it worth it"-type posts
Limited-scope questions (Can you Google it and get a yes/no answer? Is it answered in our bi-weekly thread?)
Content entirely unrelated to the Vita
Any discussion or implication of piracy will be removed, in conjunction with the Reddit Content Policy. This includes mention of piracy-specific applications, advocating or recommending piracy, and any file sharing. Violating this rule will result in a ban.
We don't support using this sub for any of these because we can't protect anyone involved. Use r/gamesale or r/gameswap for those.
Note that giveaways ARE allowed, but only if the user can enter and win entirely via Reddit, no external site links/commenting allowed.
If there is an original source of news, your own content is not to be posted in its stead. If you are posting your own original content, such as a review or interview, it should be no more than once per week and balanced by at least 10 non-self promotion comments and posts.
Read the self promotion guidelines for best practices: https://www.reddit.com/wiki/selfpromotion
Mobile links should have the "http://m." removed and replaced with the normal website. (Unless the site in question is really bad with ads.)
Affiliate / reference links are links that would make someone involved money when used, and are not allowed under any circumstances. Affiliate links also fall under URLs that have extra, pointless data at the end. Read https://www.reddit.com/r/vita/comments/5i62e0/please_note_the_difference_between_a_referral/ for more information.
We have a spoiler guide in the sidebar. Use it for anything that can be remotely construed as a spoiler.
If your post contains a spoiler for a game, mark it as a spoiler once posted via the "spoiler?" button (or if you're on a mobile device, mark it as NSFW).
Since the Spoiler function has replaced Reddit's default NSFW function, if your post is NSFW in any way, it must be marked as a spoiler as well.
Has the same post or video been linked to twice on the subreddit? The link that was posted later should be reported for deletion.
All posts on r/Vita should be related to the Vita. All posts and comments should be civil. Insults and personal attacks are not welcome.
r/VitaHacks is the authoritative source on Reddit for Vita hacking and questions/updates along these lines are better suited to that subreddit.
