Courses that is quite easy and pays well? by cardinalsigns in studentsph

You’re implying that difficulty is the only variable that decreases supply and/or increases demand. It’s not. Furthermore, this assumes that the job market is perfectly efficient and it’s not, almost no market is.

Barbatos vs Morax vs Beelzebub vs Rukkhadevata. by Kind_Firefighter4688 in Genshin_Impact

[–]xCairus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What? Zhongli is literally called a god of war or a warrior god. Furthermore, the strength of an Archon is derived from the level of control and worship they have over their region. These two things are stated in the game in the context of hyping up Zhongli. Zhongli slew other gods and is one of the two archons who were the last men standing in the archon war, thus making them archons, so of course he is pretty strong, we just don’t know if there’s someone stronger.

Venti literally says it himself that unlike him, Zhongli was very active in Liyue’s affairs for a very long time, so he was a “real” Archon in terms of power level.

Temtem is probably the closest and most polished out of your options. Other monster collection games are monster collection games, but not really Pokemon games, they’re their own thing.

Free Title Update 3 - Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]xCairus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They have 2 teams that work on MonHun. The first one develops the mainline games like World and the second one develops their portable games like Rise. Rise is the same generation as World (Monster Hunter games have generations). The next Monster Hunter game will be from the first team so it will be similar in scope and production value as World.

Waiting for any update that isn't a bug fix... by Crossie1 in valheim

[–]xCairus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly this. People are so odd, and I don’t think they understand that value judgment is subjective so telling other people that it was worth it for them means fuck all. $20 might not seem a lot to other people here but there are people in third world countries who are very careful about the games they buy because $20 is a lot for them.

Furthermore, there is also the expectation that they set. They stated a year of development maybe more, and a roadmap chock full of content that was never delivered. That’s just bad practice and reflects very badly on the developer anywhere, in any business or relationship.

Necrit make a video detailing on how garena has milked the heck out of SEA players by retsamboon in leagueoflegends

They forbade LGBTQ+ from participating in all girl tournaments. The implication being that males are better than females at video games.

Though this isn’t the whole picture. They did that because some women themselves complained about the LGBTQ+ people participating in all girl tournaments lol.

With the recent loss, Faker won the most international Finals (5) and lost the most at the same time (4) by ZloiAris in leagueoflegends

[–]xCairus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Faker isn’t that different the last 5 or so years. If he got worse it’s not that big of a difference. There is, however, quite a big difference between how he used to play and how he plays in modern day league. I’m not even considering skill difference here, but a distinct change in playstyle and difference. The transition happened fairly early on in his career as well.

You can still see glimpses of Faker’s old style in some of SKT’s ballsy and riskier plays over the years but they also tend to fail much more than during Faker’s earlier years. On that front it does feel that Faker’s game sense is worse nowadays. Not to say that it isn’t good or world class though.

A Town Especially Built for People with Dementia by [deleted] in wholesomememes

[–]xCairus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean the context of the discussion was with “severe” mental disorders in mind, which kind of implies significant risk. It doesn’t really matter whether it’s very rare in actuality, what matters is that risk factors are present and all it takes is one or two incidents to occur for the facility and approach to get flack for it.

As another point, we really don’t know enough about mental disorders, how to approach it and how to manage it in a fairly consistent way. There’s a great deal of uncertainty attached to what may occur I feel so we can’t really say with confidence that it’ll be just fine.

Probably because a lot of people with severe mental disorders can be a danger to themselves and those around them, stuff like delusions, psychosis and mania can lead to dicey stuff fast.

Awesome moment of growth from Faker by bionicbubble in leagueoflegends

[–]xCairus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think that it’s just a narrative. I’m talking about the pressure created from the intensity of the desire to win. In-game, sure, there probably was more pressure in 2017 than now. But I still think in the overall sense, there is more pressure now.

Awesome moment of growth from Faker by bionicbubble in leagueoflegends

[–]xCairus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the pressure is bigger on him now than in 2017. 2017 was the first time he lost at Worlds and he was still touted to be at his prime then. Enemy teams still played around him, he could still wide gap other mids. This time around he’s trying to prove himself again, that he’s still got it and even he himself says he’s better now than ever before.

T1 vs. DRX / 2022 World Championship - Final / Post-Match Discussion by Soul_Sleepwhale in leagueoflegends

Tbh I’m still not convinced that Pyosik is world champion caliber lmao. Like GimGoon, Ghost, lwx, Crisp, Baolan, Ning, Crown? Sure. I find it acceptable, but for some reason not Pyosik. 😂

[–]xCairus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean they used Karma even when Caitlyn was banned. It’s just a waste when Keria often finds good plays for them on champions with more playmaking ability. Plus the fact that they had no reliable way to force fights in their last comp.

I mean look at the way T1 lost both games. One was getting wiped after forcing baron and the other was a failed base rush attempt that was somewhat ill-timed. It feels like 80/100 times T1 wins this series and it just so happens that we landed on the 20/100 times that DRX would’ve won. Felt like T1 crumpling more than anything.

People are already crowning this as the best series ever but it doesn’t feel like SKT-ROX or JDG-TES where both teams are at their best.

The Karma was not it either. I really do believe if T1 drafted differently they win this series easily.

Lionsgate Flirting with Major ‘John Wick’ Video Game by reedsiteman in Games

[–]xCairus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is what I had in mind as well. The universe is pretty ripe and open-ended for a game and ties in well to what the movies showed. You’re an assassin but you must not alert the general population of your undertakings as well as the existence of a proper system and organization of assassins. You don’t kill people other than your target and other assassins so you stay lowkey while being alert of possible assassination attempts.

what is it with instalock duelists by c0mmander307 in VALORANT

[–]xCairus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lolwat. Nobody gives a fuck about the leer in the context of entry because it’s very easy to play around. Even Riot themselves said that it underperformed as an entry tool so they buffed it.

Maybe it’s different in lower ranks because they probably don’t comm and don’t shoot the eye.

New Permanent Gameplay - Genius Invokation TCG by FIGJAM17 in Genshin_Impact

[–]xCairus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Casual isn’t just about time, it’s about the level of engagement with the systems required. Spiral Abyss isn’t casual because players need to optimize to a certain degree.

This is a pretty good outline:

”They generally involve simpler rules, shorter sessions, and require less learned skill. They don't expect familiarity with a standard set of mechanics, controls, and tropes.”

Who would actually win in a fatal 4-way combat? (No dragons or helpers) by Ok-Chemistry4884 in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]xCairus -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Being taller is only strictly an advantage for untrained people. If the shorter person gets past the range advantage that the taller person has, as the above poster suggests, then common thought is that the shorter person usually has the advantage. They have more agility and better balance as the taller person is easier to get off balance and slower to recover that balance because of the higher center of gravity. Not to mention that the longer reach actually becomes a disadvantage once the enemy is in very close to them.

There’s a reason that there have been many short guys who have dominated in their respective combat sports. Size just becomes a stylistic difference at a certain point of skill and experience, although in the most extreme cases (like being a foot and a half taller or whatever) then it probably is heavily in the favor of the tall person.

Genuinely curious why JDG doesn't have a strong fan base in China by hello-operator12 in leagueoflegends

[–]xCairus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not Asian, are you? Looks do actually matter in terms of getting more fans and support. Think of how many people thirst for Rekkles and multiply that by a hundred or a thousand. Fangirls are no joke and they don’t base it purely on skill alone.

Beryl joins a VERY exclusive list of players! by Bustersword13 in leagueoflegends

[–]xCairus 48 points49 points  (0 children)

People keep overlooking Ghost but the result would be more or less the same if they only kept Beryl. People don’t seem to remember but Damwon was struggling before Ghost, they had good performances and a good standing but nowhere near winning LCK. Everything changed after Ghost joined, and you can’t really say that that was just how big the gap between Ghost and Nuclear was lol.

Each individual player in the team shapes the team and it’s impossible to properly quantify the contributions of a player from the outside. Ghost wasn’t even that bad of a player, he was pretty good in lane (contrary to popular opinion) and Damwon was able to thrive even in bot-centric metas.

Moore actually goes out and states that he hasn’t seen it. He doesn’t watch and has never watched any adaptations of his work.

It’s always been a point of principle for him. He wanted to show off comics as a medium. This is what he said:

If we only see comics in relation to movies then the best that they will ever be is films that do not move.

To Moore, just the act of adapting his work into a different medium is heresy, regardless of if it’s as faithful of an adaptation as possible, adapting it automatically makes it unfaithful because it runs counter to what he was trying to accomplish when he made those works.

If T1 wins worlds this year, Faker should get a legendary skin by akif222 in leagueoflegends

Guinsoo didn’t make DotA, it was Eul. DotA Allstars (a spinoff compilation) was made by Meian and Ragn0r. Guinsoo didn’t make anything, not Aeon of Strife, not DotA, not DotA Allstars. He only picked up where Meian and Ragn0r left off.

I don’t even think Guinsoo was the lead designer on league, although my memory on this is hazy. He was on the old Riot boards, he actually went hands-off with League fairly early on I believe. Although they may have just hidden his further involvement since Riot got a lot of flack for Pendragon’s shenanigans and they kept marketing Guinsoo as the creator of DotA when he that wasn’t actually accurate.

I played DotA for 9 years and League for 10 so I’ve been around. Been on the old DotA forums, the new one, the old Riot boards, seen Pendragon and Lyte’s smite, had IceFrog on MSN and beta tested a couple of his versions, etc.
