Bloomberg: Blizzard Manager Departs In Protest of Employee Ranking System by BlueGreenTea in Games

[–]WhiteHelljumper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I worked in a call center for Dish Network, they used this, with the goal being the average. That meant that half of employees would be below goal. They also disputed my unemployment after they fired me, I think for no reason other than to try to make me suffer by delaying my receiving benefits, because they totally half-assed it, submitted no evidence and didn't even show up for the appeal. Fortunately I had plenty in savings but I think it was about two months before I started getting unemployment.

Kids these days by ratmeleon in NonPoliticalTwitter

[–]WhiteHelljumper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Growing up my dad had taped a bunch of stuff before we were born so we had a fair bit of stuff we could watch. Return of the Jedi was the first Star Wars movie I watched because the other two he had recorded on Beta and we didn't have a working Betamax player.

He also wouldn't chase us off when he was watching something that kids shouldn't watch, so I got to see a video of an autopsy, which I think was probably Faces of Death, and way too much of the 1988 Blob movie.

US share with UN proof of North Korea supplying weapons to Russia by Klaasie765 in worldnews

Probably mainly would be supplying them with artillery shells. They keep a lot of artillery pointed at Seoul, so would be simple to sell them older shells.

They knew an eruption was coming, but the way it happened seemed to catch people off guard. The eruption started as a result of a landslide that exposed the rock under pressure, which then exploded out.

"The rings can't kill them" appears to be their whole schtick. They haven't done anything except not die, and we're supposed to stop her from awakening her people because reasons. I guess if the Flood assimilated them it would be bad, but I felt zero investment in stopping her, I'm just doing it because the game wants me to.

Apparently he chose the numbers because he's a fan of Dale Jr, but iraqveteran88 was taken so he did 8888. He chose his username in 2008.

Ex-Halo Infinite developers criticise "incompetent leadership" at Microsoft by The_Iceman2288 in Games

[–]WhiteHelljumper 11 points12 points  (0 children)

343 has dropped the ball with every Halo game they've done.

Halo 4 had shit multiplayer.

MCC had broken multiplayer and broken online co-op, which took them 4 years to fix.

Halo 5 had a shit campaign.

Infinite is probably the worst one, with a shot and broken multiplayer, and the campaign, while all right, was pretty mediocre with no replayability.

We could at least work on getting more hybrid cars too. It's the system that trains have used for damn near 100 years, not sure why it's not the standard for cars.

I've heard the ones that have the two bumps instead of the one big one are more comfortable. I've only ever used the ones that are just the big blob, and havent cared for them as I seem to have more issues with using than with not using them. I'm also not spending 40+ bucks on a waifu mousepad.

You talking about kids dropping dead from heart attacks because they had ticking time bombs for hearts and unfortunately the first sign of that was sudden cardiac arrest during a period of exertion? That's been a thing for a long time.

Local kid died from it back in 1997 during a high school football game where I live. It's estimated to happen about 20-30 times a year in the US, so it is indeed rather rare, primarily happens to people under 20. It's also a diagnosis of elimination, so the fact there's been zero announcements of an official cause of his cardiac arrest also points to it being Commotio cordis. Odds are his heart was perfectly healthy before this event.

I had some kind of flu back in 2009 as well. Had even gotten the flu shot about 2-3 weeks prior. Knocked me on my ass for about a day out of nowhere, but after that only had a fever for about a week.
