coz the prices will tank.
It happened already. This feels like another nail from ZOS towards people who invested their time into this game's economy. As if stopping crown-trading wasn't discouraging enough.
I'm glad for beginners who will be able to afford upgrades better. But it's noteworthy how ZOS keeps slamming areas of the game that negatively affect long time players and end game players alike - both target groups that burned considerate (4 digit hours) amounts of time into this game.
It's apparent and understandable from a business perspective that ZOS these days only cares about the "fresh blood", and the resulting cash coming from them. But once the pashion towards the game itself crumbles, the relationship with the company unveils itself as questionable and abusive at times.
I hope things will turn out to be positive for everyone overall, but I'm kinda just dumbfounded I discovered this post through Reddit's random suggestion. Because IMHO no sane developer would casually devalue some ingame economy items into 1/10 over night. When there is something I misunderstand, please feel free to tell me.

as it affects a lot of people at some time or another
Yeah, at the time of writing multiple IP ranges of the German Telecom are affected as well - and that's the biggest ISP in Germany. The casualty rate here is a bit higher than it should be.
You can use Cryo Utilities to symlink the shader cache to the SD card. I think what you read about has to do with the fact that the "other" space is filled up rather quickly on the 64 GB version.
So the main issue you would encounter is that the internal store could fill up faster from shader caches, than the external MicroSD with games. While using Cryo Utilities and installing Decky and its plugins helps here, it's technically still fiddly. And not everyone might be comfortable with that. Where solving this the "proper" way with a big internal SSD would be the cleanest solution. Especially since a SSD has greatly increased write cycles over a MicroSD as well, which matters in times where games rewrite half of their files on updates.

Is there an animated avatar for Hitler, Mao or Idi amin too?
I'm honestly waiting for that line to be crossed, simply because I'm genuinely interested how Valve will react when they got local authorities on them again. Like for example in Germany with lewd adult games, where Valve simply region-blocked all adult games instead of implementing an age verification system.

In your case, I'd ask the researcher to expand on and prove it.
I have this sneaking suspicion they used some "AI detection tool" that would also flag the US constitution.
I hope Valve will still take their time before shipping 3.5 to stable. Smaller bugs involving Steam Input and the layout editor* are still not being acknowledged, which is why I wish there won't be more bugs added on top. Anyone who is interested can pick the preview channel, so there wouldn't be a loss when Valve takes their time to polish up the update.
*To provide some details, with the bugs I mean issues like that if you choose to update (upload) an input layout that you previously uploaded to your private cloud storage, it will suddenly revert all your changes as if you reapplied the original layout. In some odd cases, all action set layers are casually being forgotten for good, unless you have an earlier layout backup. In some games like Gunfire Reborn, opening the controller layout in the overlay can also straight up crash the entire Steam client, which leads to a forced restart and the game being forced closed.
Is what I thought too when a legit customer comment is met with a "lol" and the whole thing being shared on the Internet
