I just learned about the NFL Title Belt and was curious about the other side of the equation. So I set on figuring out who is currently holding the NFL Sacko.

At the end of the 1966 season the New York Giants were undeniably the worst team, having crash-landed to a record of 1-12-1 and allowing the R*dsk*ns to drop 72 points on them in a single game. This gave them the dubious honor of carrying the Sacko into 1967, where they immediately passed it to the St. Louis Cardinals by defeating them 37-20. Don't feel bad though, because the Cardinals gave the Sacko right to Pittsburgh, who ended up holding it for 5 miserable weeks before leaving it behind in New Orleans.

The current Sacko holders are the Las Vegas Raiders, who received it from Buffalo in Week 2, who themselves got it from the Jets in Week 1.

Weirdly enough, four teams have carried the Sacko into the playoffs: the 2004 Eagles, the 2006 Cowboys, and the 2015 AND 2016 Patriots. The Eagles and both Patriots teams got a Wild Card bye, but succeeded on dumping the Sacko on Minnesota, Baltimore, and Kansas City respectively in the Divisional round. The 2006 Cowboys not only carried the Sacko into the playoffs, they retained it through the offseason after a disastrous 4th quarter against the Seahawks (they would go on to pass it to the Giants in Week 1, 2007 and not see it again for 12 years).
