Katharine Murphy

Katharine Murphy has worked in Canberra’s parliamentary press gallery since 1996 for the Australian Financial Review, The Australian and The Age, before joining Guardian Australia, where she is political editor. She won the Paul Lyneham Award for Excellence in Press Gallery Journalism in 2008 and has been a Walkley Award finalist twice. She was awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Canberra in 2019. She is a director of the National Press Club and the author of On Disruption.
Peter Lewis

Peter is one of Australia’s leading public campaigners with more than two decades' experience in media, politics and communications. As a principal of Essential Media, he has been behind some of Australia’s most successful and innovative campaigns including Every Australian Counts for the NDIS and Never Alone of the Luke Batty Foundation. He oversees the fortnightly Essential Report and is a regular columnist for the Guardian Australia. In June 2019, he published “Webtopia – The WorldWide Wreck of Tech and How to Make the Net Work” (UNSW Press). He is Director of the Australia Institute's Centre for Responsible Technology.

Host of the Australia Institute's popular 'Economics of a Pandemic' webinar series and Follow the Money podcast, Ebony has worked in federal politics for more than a decade. She has published research on climate change, gender and street harassment, regularly appears as a commentator on ABC and Sky News, as a contributor for The Guardian and columnist for the Canberra Times.
