The single most useful class by a large margin I ever took in law school was Advanced Legal Research (ALR).
First-year writing classes can suck, but this advanced course will likely suck even more. But like silver melded by intense heat, you too will emerge more skilled in legal research than ever before. It's the one class every seasoned litigator or attorney remembers because it's what taught them the most.
Good research skills are valuable. It's worth improving on it while in school.
It's a tough class so do exercise caution. But I can guarantee you will not forget what you learned from this course.
