[–]Careful_Swan3830Do you lick ass Gwineth? 2465 points2466 points  (63 children)

I feel like you’d be freezing cold in there no matter how high the heat was on.

[–]parishilton2The 🔑 is not to drive your jet ski in the dark.[S] 964 points965 points  (26 children)

I feel like it’s cold but clammy in that house

[–][deleted] 415 points416 points  (12 children)

A hundred years from now these will be the houses you see in haunted house movies.

[–]dirtymouthariel 69 points70 points  (2 children)

The bedroom especially looks like a tomb.

[–]GrapefruitKitchen549 151 points152 points  (5 children)

Its making me claustrophobic just looking at it, where is the light, the windows, the world outside, the trees and greenery, this is child neglect at this point

[–]yarnhooker99 39 points40 points  (2 children)

I need some blankets and pictures and umm texture I guess? Something for your eyes to fall on…there’s too much smoothness or sharpness everywhere, it mages me very anxious for some reason lol. But maybe I’m too cluttery…

[–][deleted] 163 points164 points  (6 children)

Why you all being so negative. It's clear she hasn't moved in yet. There are no prints of dog's playing pool or cat's playing poker. Come on folks, give the lady time to make her mark. ( /s, just for you edible girlfriend)

[–]explainlikeim666 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Right? Give her time to add a “Live, Laugh, Love”

[–]TransientSWer 975 points976 points  (62 children)

That sink is definitely made for people who wouldn’t use it or be around it. Actually, the organization of those spices screams the kitchen is just for decoration…

[–]hydrangeasinbloomNot generally, no. 677 points678 points  (21 children)

There has to be a separate caterer’s kitchen for the professionals who actually cook for this family, because this just looks unusable

[–]Orchidwalker 197 points198 points  (20 children)

There is

[–]DripIntravenous 323 points324 points  (19 children)

I was fascinated/disgusted by her “”tour”” she did of her kitchens when people were making fun of her weird ass pantry. Basically, theres that room with the weird jars of dry goods (why?) and behind that counter is a few fridges that have NOTHING in them besides bottles of water and random things (i think the still on here is from that video?).

So she goes “you guysssssss” and then goes around the corner and down some halls and she has not one but TWO MORE f’ing kitchens, a show one and one for staff to cook all her meals for her in. Its insane!! The whole video was this weird brag specifically about how many fridges she has, including a walk in fridge for fruits/vegetables. It was insane.

[–]Pew-Pew-Pew- 57 points58 points  (8 children)

Didnt one of the fridges have like 15 different cartons of cow and almond milk and the only other thing was bottled water?

[–]threelizards 36 points37 points  (4 children)

Do these people just stand around and sample milk and produce all day wtf

The amount of food waste alone that comes out of that house must be awful

[–]shhhhh_h 15 points16 points  (1 child)

That sounds so wasteful, of electricity and of milk.

[–]KelT9 9 points10 points  (2 children)

Yes. And I don't understand how one family can consume so much stuff.

[–]PervertedWholesome91 90 points91 points  (12 children)

I've been in a couple hotels that had sinks like that and found them infuriating to actually use!

[–][deleted] 101 points102 points  (11 children)

I've realized I love a good 2.5-3 star hotel. A Courtyard by Marriott has a decent sink you can wash your undies in, a microwave, fridge & a couch. A 4 or 4.5-star hotel will usually have a good brunch but often the room is not practical, with $5 bottled water and no microwave.

[–]PervertedWholesome91 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Agreed! A lot of the super fancy rooms have felt like they were designed for rich, honeymooning exhibitionists, which, good for them but they're awkward for anyone else lol

[–]OhHolyOpals 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I can see her staff buying groceries and emptying the contents into the jars for aesthetic, instead of using them for one of the main reason these jars exist for this purpose - reducing waste so you can buy bulk (or as little as you want) to avoid packaging. Example of a shop near me that promotes BYOJ (bring your own jar) bulk ingredients

I’m not trying to gate keep these jars and I encourage people to use them however they want in their own home, I just expect that the Kardashians aren’t using them to reduce single use plastic which is something they could easily afford and proactively promote to their followers.

[–]theunkindpanda 1229 points1230 points  (71 children)

I’m not a fan of modern styles. The sterile white, sharp edges, everything looks so lifeless

[–]RedLicorice83 551 points552 points  (34 children)

Please bring back art nouveau! I want my house to look like a fairy tale 😍

[–]vacaslocas 325 points326 points  (12 children)

you bring it back girl, thrift. you do your own style, shape your own fairytale. I know I sound terribly corny, but I love when people find their own style. nothing better than loving your own home

[–]MYSTICALLMERMAID 144 points145 points  (9 children)

I’m an avid thrifter and just purchased my first home finally. We close on the 14th and I could literally scream bc I can finally figure out how to use all my goodies 😂

[–]happysunbear 29 points30 points  (2 children)

Congrats!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

[–]MYSTICALLMERMAID 15 points16 points  (1 child)

Thank you!

[–]happysunbear 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It’s a big deal! I’m not at the home-owning stage yet, but hopefully it’s doable for me within the next 3-5 years. I get super inspired when I hear of other people purchasing for the first time in this economy. 😄

[–]Jellyfish-airballoon 26 points27 points  (6 children)

I would also love that but the craftsmanship for architecture and design for something like art nouveau or anything intricate style would just be so expensive for what people would be willing to pay for now.

[–]gypsycookie1015 19 points20 points  (4 children)

Damn right! I want it to look like a vampire lives there! Fuckin classic!

[–]welp-itscometothis 43 points44 points  (4 children)

I watched a YouTube video about how beige modern minimalist style homes can be harmful to you mental wellness.

[–]theunkindpanda 48 points49 points  (0 children)

I believe it. It would feel like sitting in a doctors office all day to me.

[–][deleted] 13 points14 points  (1 child)

The only positive thing I can say about this home is that its easy for her staff to clean. That's all I got.

[–]BORT_licenceplate 41 points42 points  (1 child)

Me neither. When I was 18 - 30ish I was hardcore into the white minimalist vibe but now I'm approaching my 40s Ive really started to love colour and textures a lot. I wouldnt say I'm a maximalist but I'm pretty close and I think MCM design is my absolute favourite now. Lots of natural wood in my home would be my dream too

[–]nobodythinksofyouTina! You fat lard! 🦙🚲 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I think modern styles look really nice and theyre great for photography. Not so great for being a warm and inviting place to actually live in though.

[–]Buffybot60601 628 points629 points  (50 children)

I’m an adult living alone and can’t be trusted with white furniture. How she can live in that house with four young children is baffling. They must single handedly keep Oxiclean in business.

[–]Jordvnm 547 points548 points  (10 children)

The amount of spraytans this family upkeeps, there is no way the furniture can be for lounging

[–]Big_Jackfruit_8821 166 points167 points  (8 children)

Or how much makeup they wear. They cant even put the side of their face on the couch

[–]lambo1109 169 points170 points  (13 children)

I’ve always wondered if these are for pics and they have a whole livable house that we don’t see.

[–]No_Meringue_6116 98 points99 points  (12 children)

I recently listened to a podcast about how on 'MTV Cribs,' essentially every house (and especially the cars and stuff) was just rented for the episode. Only a couple were the celebrity's actual house.

https://underunderstood.com/podcast/episode/mtv-cribs-or-mtv-fibs/

So I guess it wouldn't surprise me if the KJ clan had fake houses just for insta photos.

Edit: Also, this podcast made me watch Redman's episode of Cribs. It's amazing.

Apparently the producers wanted him to rent a place, but he only agreed to do it if he could use his real (and kind of shitty) apartment.

If any of you grew up watching the show and missed that episode, you should watch it right now.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zNtKT9_1KXQ

[–]localgoss 53 points54 points  (2 children)

My understanding re: Keeping Up is that they used fake houses for the show, and the house on IG is the real house.

[–]DefNotUnderrated 47 points48 points  (1 child)

Lmao I missed Redman's when the show was on but saw it finally last month. My favorite part was his cousin sleeping on his floor and not waking up even for the camera crew.

[–]Alternative-Today455 7 points8 points  (0 children)

“That’s just sugar bear, chilling in the cut”

Dude he is in deep hibernation

At least he isn’t likely to get woken by the doorbell…

[–]Pizza__Bitch 21 points22 points  (0 children)

His cousin asleep on the floor 😂😂😂😂 man what a G

[–][deleted] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I get it. If someone was a big enough star to have multiple stalkers/real security, letting someone in to film and show all the exits/entrances would be a nightmare.

[–]Past_Standard5222 98 points99 points  (2 children)

I assume they just throw it away and get a new one every time something spills

[–]parishilton2The 🔑 is not to drive your jet ski in the dark.[S] 131 points132 points  (1 child)

I think they’ll keep North around at least

[–]BORT_licenceplate 54 points55 points  (0 children)

I also always just assume they don't actually spend much time at home. Always in hotels, other people's houses, their mums house.

[–]proserpinax 25 points26 points  (4 children)

The second I got a white couch I would somehow find a way to spill something on it that would stain forever. I’d attempt to be careful but it would happen. I can’t be trusted with this level of minimalism.

[–]tmp803 39 points40 points  (3 children)

I bought a brand new white couch and a few weeks in I had my first period leak in probably 10 years. It was terrible and on top of it I had on new blue PJ pants that bled through with the blood. So I had a big blue dye stain and a blood stain. It legit caused an emotional breakdown lol. I got it all out which was shocking. Now I put a blanket down when on my period and will never wear blue again

[–][deleted] 299 points300 points  (10 children)

It's giving Ex Machina. I can just picture an evil A.I. taking control of the entire complex or Oscar Isaac tearing up the fucking dancefloor.

[–]luna-esque 650 points651 points  (18 children)

It's... soulless. Somehow, even with all that white, it doesn't feel bright, airy, and open. It comes across as oppressive. Like you're drowning in it.

To each their own and everything, but I would hate living here and it's difficult for me to see the appeal for anyone.

[–]parishilton2The 🔑 is not to drive your jet ski in the dark.[S] 112 points113 points  (7 children)

I agree, I don’t understand the lighting in there at all. Maybe they can’t work those ridiculous light switches lol

[–]Sleve__McDichael 108 points109 points  (5 children)

lol the light switches are actually my least hated part, really just because i like the old school push button light switches they appear to be uber-minimalist versions of

<image>

[–]xxIKnowAPlacexx 42 points43 points  (2 children)

Maybe the lack of windows

[–]No-Environment-7899 42 points43 points  (1 child)

Exactly, not a lot of windows and it’s weirdly dark for how open and white the spaces are. It’s like a recipe for instant depression.

[–]poopoopeepee00000 137 points138 points  (3 children)

Have you guys seen the aerial views of that property! It’s gigantic. I’m convinced there’s a separate wing where they all live in and it’s a normal house. This part is just used to promote their products and for photo shoots/social media

[–]IntroductionFeisty61 36 points37 points  (0 children)

You're probably right. Her style has always been gaudy. This is probably just the image she likes to promote.

[–]saygirlie 452 points453 points  (29 children)

In an interview, Kim said she has so much noise and chaos in her life so she wants her home to offset that and keep her calm. She may have taken it to one extreme. I think it’s possible to still have a very calm aesthetic and not resort to all white.

[–]Davis1511 259 points260 points  (8 children)

Yea after hearing that reason I could see wanting a more minimalist, calm aesthetic but I feel like maybe a Japanese zen vibe or even an open air Mexican architecture type home could achieve both the calm, clean vibe and still be cozier than this.

I hate clutter and chaos too, I’m a very neat and tidy mom. But I still put my home in various textures and colors to make it feel lived in. And a fun lamp, some pictures of family or snuggly reading nook does wonders. Ugh idk I feel like this is setting up at least one of her kids to be a clutter bug lol 😅

[–]YoungKeys 43 points44 points  (2 children)

calm aesthetic but I feel like maybe a Japanese zen vibe

Immediately thought of Maria Sharapova's house which is so nice

[–]allthecats 50 points51 points  (0 children)

That was my first thought when looking at these photos: what must the interior life of someone who lives in a home like be like for you to crave…nothingness? There are plenty of serene modern minimalist interiors that actually feel like a place that would inspire peace. This inspires nothing. Which must be so intentional but also deeply creepy.

[–]leen195005 34 points35 points  (1 child)

There is a sense of calm in minimalism

[–]Educational_Walk_239 31 points32 points  (1 child)

I can see her reasoning but she has four young children who presumably live in that house… How has she convinced them to go along with the calm clean thing she’s got going on?! Cos that’s two things kids usually are not.

[–][deleted] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure the kids’ rooms are normal and colorful, and they also probably have multiple play rooms that are normal.

[–]mrsbatman 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Interesting reason. I always assumed because it’s way easier to photoshop your body on a background like that.

[–]TheBirdBytheWindow 785 points786 points  (25 children)

Its so unwelcoming and cold and it makes me sad for the kids. Imagine thinking back on your home growing up and its just void like this.

[–]gracem5 301 points302 points  (12 children)

Money cannot buy taste.

[–]PanicAtTheMiniso 72 points73 points  (2 children)

I always thought that you'd have to be soullessly rich to afford and actually want 30 shades of beige for your interior.

[–][deleted] 80 points81 points  (1 child)

Before scrolling to the playroom pic, I was thinking where the hell do the kids play!? Also… the floors look so hard and cold it would hurt like hell to slip and fall on it.

[–]Live-Acanthaceae3587 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Maybe they ride scooters around. My kids would have loved that.

[–]Likesosmart 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It’s honestly giving me like kidnapper/serial killer vibes. What person would choose to live like this all the time…

[–]Gandhis_revenge 246 points247 points  (7 children)

Girl get a houseplant, damn

[–]Austinpowerstwo 144 points145 points  (21 children)

Put up some art on the walls, jesus christ

[–]parishilton2The 🔑 is not to drive your jet ski in the dark.[S] 306 points307 points  (20 children)

Oh don’t worry there is art

<image>

[–]Austinpowerstwo 82 points83 points  (10 children)

Haha that's so perfect, a million times shitter than I could have imagined.

[–]parishilton2The 🔑 is not to drive your jet ski in the dark.[S] 149 points150 points  (9 children)

Maybe this one will strike your fancy

<image>

[–]gadamoron 136 points137 points  (1 child)

Can I offer you an egg in these trying times?

[–]Slow_Like_Sloth 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Her?

[–]Slow_Like_Sloth 9 points10 points  (1 child)

A nice reading nook on the wall

[–]leen195005 147 points148 points  (6 children)

My only takeaway; why does the beginning of the slide start inside a ball pit and not the end of the slide

[–]sanibelle98 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Or is it a ramp into a tiny sad ball pit filled with champagne bubbles?

[–]Consistent_Rich_153 18 points19 points  (0 children)

My first thought. That playroom looked so sad.

[–]CherHorowits 231 points232 points  (5 children)

It's giving Star Wars cantina vibes

<image>

[–]ilikecatsandflowers 92 points93 points  (2 children)

yes, except the cantina has way more character lol

[–]warm___ 62 points63 points  (3 children)

Excuse me, that bear in the playroom is the nicest guy and I won't hear any trash talk in his name.

I have the same one and I call him Phil, he's very good at sitting and has very cute/weird eyelids. He takes up 3/4 of a king size bed.

[–]bord_de_lac 7 points8 points  (2 children)

Is he the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory bear?

[–]parisismyfriend 94 points95 points  (6 children)

I kinda love it as a blank canvas. It just needs some art on the walls and more decor and colours overall

[–]PanicAtTheMiniso 36 points37 points  (0 children)

This is actualy the reason behind mininalist showrooms. The idea isn't to inspire potential buyers to go for a minimal look but to allow viewers to project their own idea of home by mentally adding colors, textures, and personality.

At this point, it really looks as if the house was bought directly out of some expensive showroom.

[–]Siberianmoocat 35 points36 points  (2 children)

Looks like the setting of a black mirror episode

[–]LiveAgent4838 50 points51 points  (1 child)

They could intomb her there when she passes it looks like a mausoleum

[–]aquariusnights 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Lol I said the exact same thing

[–]OneEstate8464 41 points42 points  (6 children)

The captions are killing me OP 😢 Poor Kenny G alone in the rose graveyard

[–][deleted] 20 points21 points  (1 child)

I love everything about it and also despise so much. It’s like a gorgeous modern art gallery sans any artwork whatsoever. It feels derelict, or abandoned. I wonder if that’s like an ultra-rich person flex? Having no artwork? God… the things I would do with this home and her infinite budget.

[–]broke207 18 points19 points  (3 children)

You missed a pic.

<image>

[–]PastInteraction2034 15 points16 points  (2 children)

Kim was an early adopter of the three sea shells method

[–]Wunderlandtripzz 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I do like all the palm leaf plants outside the bathroom

[–]CLEwithaK 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Love the hilarious captions and the one just says “Pantry” 💀

[–]mizzymichie 113 points114 points  (7 children)

I hate minimalist modern houses. Yeah, they’re clean but they feel so sterile. I’d rather see a messy lived-in house because it feels cozy.

Kimye’s place literally looks like it’s straight out of some elevated surreal horror scene where everything looks right but is just off. Like a poor imitation of human living quarters.

[–]urmelcome 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It’s like an institution lol

[–]SchoolOfTheWolf93 85 points86 points  (3 children)

As someone who works in an infant/toddler room at a daycare, and am bombarded with noise, color, and stimulation all day long, this house is my actual dream lol

I’d add a little more personality but honestly the muted colors and simpleness of it all would be nice to come home to.

[–][deleted] 23 points24 points  (1 child)

This does not look like a home, just a house made for architect magazines. It’s not cozy, it’s kind of unwelcome. I remember that she had a beautiful normal house in Calabasas, I think it was her first “big house” when she left Kris’ house.

To be honest, I don’t like any of the Kardashians/Jenners houses, all of them looks like we’re made to show.

[–]Technical_Big7934I don’t really think, I just walk 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I honestly like Kendall's house. It looks like my dream home, it isn't that big when compared to the rest and it has that homely vibes. But Kim's house is terrible, lol.

[–][deleted] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

rich people are so weird

[–][deleted] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I like it, but it reminds me of a museum more than a place you'd wanna live. But I get someone constantly bombarded with attention and noise wanting to live in a white bubble.

[–][deleted] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That bathtub looks so painful

[–]machinefriend 10 points11 points  (1 child)

It's giving Liminal Spaces

[–]babyl8 40 points41 points  (0 children)

If i had multiple houses like these people do i wouldnt mind having one that looks like this.

[–]Downtown-Astronaut24 21 points22 points  (2 children)

It looks like something out of AHS

[–]WelderApprehensive47 19 points20 points  (1 child)

For some inexplicable reasons this is triggering my chronic depression.

[–]ApprehensiveRiver179 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I mean I’d take it lol

[–]phantomleader94 7 points8 points  (1 child)

i would literally lose my mind in there

[–]gardengnome1219 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I hate it.

[–]SignificantSound7904 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Something funny about having a 3800 sq ft house and calling the architecture "minimalist" 💀

[–]Green_minded27 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think Kim just doesn’t have the taste and sense of style. Be it her clothing style or her abode. She’s trying to be this edgy and avant garde person which is clearly something she’s not. She doesn’t have to try so hard. We get it, you have money and can afford to hire the best people to style you or your house but it’s not just it

[–]bellechelle05 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I hate this house with every fiber of my being.

[–]Money-Entrance-6336 13 points14 points  (1 child)

Apparently children live in this house🤔.

[–]B33fboy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

10/10 on the (pre-installation) art museum front, 0/10 for household for / with children.

[–]fillers4lyfe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

i swear she’s contractually not allowed to hang things on walls, add items like furniture/decor, or change it in anyway whatsoever. it’s an investment and not an actual “home”.

[–]ams3000 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Souless

[–]Mehitabel-453 6 points7 points  (0 children)

TIHI.

Someone should write a horror movie screenplay about an uber-famous celebrity who lives in a house like this.

[–]EmployeePotential622 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly I kind of get it. Such a chaotic and crazy life, I respect wanting a clean, simple, serene home without much drama.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s not for me, but I get how it is appealing to her.

[–]dangerislander 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Reminds of Dune.

[–]UnhappyGrowth5555 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t like it but hey, I don’t t live there.

[–]spinlifteat 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The pantry was a jump scare… where are the Oreos and chips

[–]uhhalivia 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They should shoot a black mirror episode there about their whole family

[–]roxy031Excluded from this narrative 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The whole thing makes me feel very cold. It does not feel remotely warm or cozy or inviting. I’d hate to be a kid growing up in this house. Maybe their rooms are more fun and lively?

[–]No_Pomegranate1167 4 points5 points  (0 children)

All that money spent on the beige level of hell, only for them to break up.

[–]peanut5855 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m convinced all her rooms are stark white so she can photoshop without identifying walls, furniture etc

[–]Li_alvart 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel so poor living in a tiny room :/
