Between a blowout on TNF, 4 blowouts on the Sunday noon slate (including an Upset Blowout by the Texans over the Jags), a blown 17-point 4th quarter lead, an afternoon slate blowout, and an afternoon-slate upset, there was a lot to overreact to this week.

With all that noise and drama, what has gotten buried? What are people not reacting strongly enough to, and not talking enough about?

Some of my thoughts:

  • The Lions defense put doubters to bed yesterday. After only recording 1 sack the first 2 weeks, they put up 7 Sacks and 11 total TFLs yesterday, as well as forcing a fumble, keeping Atlanta out of the End Zone all day.

  • The Titans are a dumpster fire. I know this isn't necessarily a completely "not talked about" thing, but lost in all the craziness of yesterday is the fact that the Titans got totally humiliated by a Browns team that was atrocious just 6 days ago. Ryan Tannehill went 13/25 yesterday for just 104 total yards. Derrick Henry got 11 touches for 20 yards. The Titans had six first downs all game. Their only scoring drive of the game was from a Browns fumble in their own territory that saw the Titans losing 9 yards before ultimately kicking a FG. Four of their drives were 3-and-outs. The only long drive they went on saw Ryan Tannehill take a sack in the red zone just before half and run out of time. This was truly a disaster of a game and it's pretty clear that it's time to hand the reigns to someone else in Tennessee. The Titans' only saving grace is that they play in the AFC South and 3 teams are 1-2.

  • The Saints blowing a 17-point lead is going to distract from just how bad the Packers looked for most of that game, and how Carr getting injured was the only thing that kept them in the game. Jameis is not an NFL-caliber QB at this point. Packers Fans should be incredibly concerned about what they saw out of Jordan Love through the first 3 quarters - multiple missed open men, poor decision making, bad pocket presence.

  • The Seahawks are actually a really good team and they just had a stinker of a Week 1 game. The past 2 weeks, their offense has been able to do whatever they want and move the ball at will. The O-Line is buying Geno enough time to do whatever he wants, and the receivers are creating tons of separation.

  • Mike Tomlin will drag this team kicking and screaming to 9 wins and a Wildcard appearance.
