I don't care what team they're on, I'm just curious if this is a topic any of the candidates have been talking about. I feel like a candidate with a good plan to fix housing affordability could win a lot of votes.

Questions here should rise above the level of Google searching. I shouldn't be able to give a "Let me Google that for you" link to answer the question.
While discussions invariably result from the questions posed in this sub, posts should be actual questions and not general discussion prompts. There are plenty of other subreddits for more general discussion.
Top-tiered comments should be serious attempts to answer the question. There's very little room for jokes/memes, unless those are given within the context of a fuller answer. If it's just a joke, it will be removed.
The reader should be able to walk away from a comment having learned something related to the question. While many answers are up for debate and there is room for substantive disagreement, top-tiered comments should obviously avoid being factually incorrect.
Sources are not a requirement for top-tiered comments, especially if they are sufficiently comprehensive. However, sources must be provided upon request. If you cannot find a source for a top-tiered comment, think twice about posting it. If a source is requested but cannot be provided, the comment may be removed.
All posts and comment should be civil, polite, and respectful. Name-calling, partisan bickering, ad hominems, insults, etc. are all inappropriate no matter how far down a thread they're found and regardless of whether an insult is embedded in an otherwise helpful comment. Repeat violators will be banned.
Soapboxing, loaded questions, and other inherently biased posts are not allowed. Questions should be honest, good-faith attempts to learn something about politics.
This is a general catch-all report category. This subreddit requires honest, good-faith efforts to participate. In many cases, people can violate the spirit of the subreddit without technically violating the letter of the other rules; this report category aids users and moderators alike by giving users a tool to report bad-faith posts and comments.
Questions that are obvious attempts to answer homework problems or questions that are meant to ask users about their opinions are not appropriate for this subreddit.
From time to time we establish megathreads to keep similar questions from dominating the sub. Please use this if you believe that this should be posted instead there.
