Ok, I want you to look into your soul, and be completely honest with yourself.

If Embiid almost always played the games in Denver, and Jokic always skipped the games in Phili, would you joke about how Jokic was ducking Embiid?

Be honest.

What did DeAndre Ayton do so differently guarding Jokic in the 2021 playoffs vs now in 2023 playoffs? by NBAperspective in nba

[–]KangorKodos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ayton was trying harder, Jokic is better now, but also the Suns were able to exhaust Jokic on defense, largely because of how much more ground he had to cover due to the weak defensive supporting cast, and then he had to carry an even bigger load on offense.

Ok, ready, this may be shocking.

Embiid can do things Jokic can't.

I know, unbelievable

He released his 2022 player valuations recently, and had Jokic as a slightly negative defender. (With a note he might be able to move it to neutral if he see's a Jokic team with solid defensive teammates can be a good playoff defense)

I think when he talks about how "good" of a defender Jokic is, he is responding to people who think Jokic is one of the worst defenders in the league.

Since the "Embiid's scoring dropoff in the playoffs is the largest in the NBA" post, he has three straight 30 point games, averaging 32/11/3 with 2.7 blocks by LanceTheKnapper in nba

[–]KangorKodos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wow, the 7 foot tall 300 pound wing, who is one of the best post scorers, midrange shooters, and roll threats in the league, and a solid 3 point shooter, is actually still good at scoring in the post season. And we shouldn't overreact to a 5 game sample.

I'm shocked, shocked I tell you.

Better second round series right now: Nikola Jokic or Devin Booker? by NBAperspective in nba

[–]KangorKodos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nuggets won today, so everyone will say it's obviously Jokic, but they are both fucking outrageously unbelievable. Devin Booker terrifies me right now every time he gets the ball. I feel like at any point he will just make 10 jumpers in a row. I am fully expecting him to score 40 points on 85% true shooting on Thursday, and I think if he doesn't do something like that the Suns lose. He will push the pace, he will get clutch steals, he will just make everything, and he will make smart passes when double teamed.

Jokic is also just...I mean he is doing Jokic things. Absurd 3 level scoring, solid enough defense, all time playmaking, amazing off ball movement. His gravity, and off ball value is probably the most underrated part of his game. Even in plays he doesn't touch the ball, he will force opposing players to move around to counter him, and create driving lanes for teammates. I sometimes wonder if he is just like 4 or 5 seconds ahead of everyone else on the planet. I think he is also showing how impossible he is to scheme against, which I think makes him pretty clearly the best offensive player in the world. And really differentiates him from other elite offensive players. He legitimately has a case for being the best scorer, rebounder, and best passer in the world, and basically gives opposing coaches the hardest possible job.

It would be amazing. The 2 players who have played like the best regular season players in the world for 3 straight years, but were criticized for lack of playoff success, being the last 2 standing.

Bring it.

Also we would finally get to see Embiid play in Denver again, or would he load manage for those games?

If you could form a championship contending team around prime Russell Westbrook, what's the starting 5? by KuJahmae in nba

[–]KangorKodos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PG: Westbrook
SG: Devin Booker
SF Prime LeBron

PF: Giannis
C: Jokic

That is the roster I would build...around Westbrook....he is totally the person moving the neatle on that team, gonna have to carry those bums.

I got told so many times Denver would lose in the first round that I was nearly driven to insanity.

[–]KangorKodos 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The question is would a 90s coach figure out to run their offense through him, but if so offensively it would look like super charged Hakeem. Worse post scoring, but all time great inside out offense out of the post with his passing.

I also think he would look better defensively, because he is actually a pretty good post defender.

It's hard to be that mad, because on paper the looks he was generating were amazing. I would normally take a couple wide open Jamal Murray 3s when you need a run any day, it just looks bad cause he bricked them.

Dillon Brooks as a Nugget by LACIRCA2044 in denvernuggets

No. He doesn't have the self awareness to not chuck a bunch of 3s he sucks at making. One reason BB, and CB are really good, is that they don't take bad shots for their ego. Taking bad shots for his ego is Brooks middle name.
