The British actress starred as scheming queen Cersei Lannister in HBOโ€™s fantasy epic, which ended after eight seasons in April.ย?

The final seasons were controversial among fans who were disappointed by a clunky plot and the fate of their favourite characters.ย?

Headey said she โ€œhad a few of her own gripesโ€ to bring up with showrunners David Benioff and Daniel Weiss who adapted the series from George RR Martinโ€™s a Song of Ice and Fire books.ย?

โ€œI invested as a viewer and I have my favourite characters. And Iโ€™ve got a few of my own gripes. But I havenโ€™t sat down drunkly with David and Danย? yet,โ€ she told The Guardian.

She added that if she had the chance she would say: โ€œI wanted a better death.โ€

โ€œObviously you dream of your death,โ€ she said.

โ€œYou could go in any way on that show. So I was kind of gutted. But I just think they couldnโ€™t have pleased everyone. No matter what they did, I think there was going to be some big comedown from the climb.โ€

Cersei and her brother and lover Jamie (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) died when they were crushed by falling masonry.ย?

Headey also said she is โ€œgoodโ€ following the end of the long-running series.ย?

She is starring in upcoming drama film The Flood, as a hardened immigration officer who must decide if an asylum seeker whose case she has been referred is telling the truth.

Lena Headey has said she is โ€œguttedโ€ at how her character died in the penultimate episode of Game of Thrones.ย?

I was at comic con with Lena Headey today, and she talked about Cersei. Not sure if theres already videos and stuff but Iโ€™ll post what I remember.

She said she REALLY wanted Arya to kill Cersei.

She was โ€œreally sadโ€ that Cersei didnโ€™t have more scenes and she was so alone and didnโ€™t get to do more scenes with the other actors.

She really wanted to have a last scene with Tyrion before she died. She said inside her Cersei loves Tyrion โ€œso muchโ€ and admire his intelligence and wit. That is why she could not kill him when she had the chance twice and she was sad she didnโ€™t get to play those feelings out with him in a last scene. She realised her true feelings at the end after losing everything and truly did love Jaime when they died.

Cersei was supposed to lose her baby in s7 after Jaime left, Lena filmed the scene and found the scene really great. She said it was really traumatic and would have served Cersei differently. But it never made it in and they went the other route.

She hated her โ€œturnipโ€ wig and her tight dresses where she could hardly lift her arms. Loved Michele Claptonโ€™s designs though.

She loved that Jaime and Cersei died together and that their bond was so strong (she said the โ€œbastardโ€ didnโ€™t have to do Brienne though) and thought the death was sad and made sense, but she had really hoped it would have been Arya with Jaime or Tyrions face.

If she could play another character she wanted to be Arya (who she kept mentioning) or Brienne (who she loves).

She was crying a lot when filming her last scene with Nikolaj and he was like โ€œwhat is wrong with you?โ€ but then he started crying too.

She didnโ€™t mind Bran on the throne, โ€œhe seems pretty chillโ€, she wanted Arya on it but said she deserved her โ€œvacationโ€.

Her favorite character she has played is Cersei because she played her for so long and she loved her as the โ€œbroken survivorโ€ she was.

She loved being part of GOT for so many years, praised the whole team (including the writers).

She broke down crying in her car after her last day of filming and getting her speech and parting gift.

Her last scene was one of the most emotional scenes to film for her along with another one (I forgot, sorry, haha).

Iโ€™ll edit if I remember more, on my way home now. Going again to see her tomorrow.
