r/Ireland is not a source for driving pageviews and ad-clicks through hysteria and fabricated reporting.
Tabloid/non-news source links will be removed.
As examples, the following sources will be removed:
The Sun
The Daily Express
Mirror Online
The Daily Mail (UK)
This short list is by no means exhaustive; please make an effort to review the content you're posting, and the integrity of the source.
As a general rule, political content outside of major news-worthy events (such as ongoing Electoral news) should be limited to one post per day per user at most. Additionally, users should not post on r/Ireland solely to promote any political agenda - such as solely posting excessively right or left-wing news stories or trying to garner or organize support or funds for a cause or movement. Accounts suspected of being set up to evade any posting limits on political agenda content will be banned.
All news articles/content should be submitted as direct links; not contained within any self-text body, tweet(s), screenshot(s), archive website(s) etc.
News posts should be submitted without any editorialisation of the title, except for clarifications within [square brackets]. Clarifications with bias or excessive detail will be removed.
Duplicate threads/posts made within a short period of time will be removed, with the oldest thread/post being kept intact.
Note that this is not intended for use against "reposts" of popular content/memes - this is intended as a measure against duplicate news articles and similar content.
In the event of another source reporting on a story, this source should be posted as a comment on the original news thread unless there is significant new/relevant information in the report.
All Tourism advice, questions on where to go/what to see/where to stay etc. should be directed to r/IrishTourism.
All immigration advice, how to move to Ireland, where to move to in Ireland, questions about housing, jobs and taxes etc. should be directed to r/MoveToIreland.
If you're planning to study in Ireland you please also check out r/StudyInIreland.
For modding decisions, modmail is the only accepted way to get in touch with the sub moderators. Any mod call-outs or tags in threads regardless of context will be handled as User-targeting/harassment. This is inclusive of Discord Moderator requests.
Meta-threads about modding decisions will generally be ignored also but you are free if you have complaints to message the mods and report; the mods will discuss these matters in private.
