Hi Questers! TamTu from the Vertigo Games community team here :)

Save the date, because on October 13 youโ€™ll be able to experience the VR zombie apocalypse in the ultimate way: untethered, with enhanced graphics and supporting cross-platform multiplayer on the Oculus Quest ecosystem. Thatโ€™s right, weโ€™re bringing a newly enhanced version of Arizona Sunshine to Oculus Quest 2 with even uglier zombies (youโ€™ve been warned), full ragdoll physics for a more satisfying zombie shooting experience and visual enhancements overall. Weโ€™re thrilled to share that this update will even bring some of these graphical improvements to users on the original Oculus Quest as early as today!

But donโ€™t take our word for it, check out the Arizona Sunshine Quest 2 v Quest 1 Graphics Comparison video here to see the difference for yourself:

https://reddit.com/link/j7fml8/video/tnahqbsu7wr51/player

Hereโ€™s an overview of the visual upgrades for Arizona Sunshine on Quest 2:

  • HD zombies with full physics: Even uglier zombies!

  • Enriched world: Blood spatter, foliage, birds, destructible glass & environment zombies

  • Real-time sniper scopes

  • Dynamic lighting and shaders (specular and normal maps)

  • Overall graphic enhancement*

*Also available to players on Oculus Quest 1.

The free enhancement update will even bring some of these graphical improvements to users on the original Oculus Quest as early as today!

While this does drop a beefier install-size onto your headset, it also means all Quest 1 and Quest 2 owners will be able to experience Arizona Sunshine together through crossplay within the Quest ecosystem. This includes all of the game's content released to date: including all Horde Mode Updates and both DLC expansions. Weโ€™ve got you covered, no matter what your plans in the scorched apocalypse are!

As always, there will be plenty more zombies to take care of in Arizona Sunshine, and if you are looking for fellow survivors to take on the horde with, thereโ€™s always someone to team up with in the official Arizona Sunshine Discord Channel or the official Oculus Group!

UPDATE: I'm getting a lot of questions about 90hz support for Arizona Sunshine on Quest 2 and weโ€™re happy to share that as soon as the beta feature becomes available to us at launch of Quest 2. Oculus says developers can work on implementing this feature on launch, and thatโ€™s when the team will be able to look into fully implementing the higher framerate support.

CONTENT ROADMAP

https://i.redd.it/feh9z7lkvs241.jpg

We understand you've been really waiting for these details, but we had to wait for the official green light due to some technicalities related to how we had rolled out on Oculus Rift. Thank you for understanding!

We still have a team hard at work to recreate the assets from the DLC and rebuild the extra content. Now that we have the optimal build we were looking for, we can proceed with getting the Dead Man and The Damned DLC available to Quest players in Spring 2020. And you can see, if you already own the DLCs via the Oculus Store for Rift, it'll be available for you on Quest when it drops according to the roadmap! (You know, what most people refer to as Cross Buy ;)

-----------------------------

Hello r/OculusQuest! Itโ€™s the Vertigo Games team here! Ahead of our launch for the Arizona Sunshine Quest version, we invite you to participate in an AMA with the developers on December 4th (tomorrow!) at 9pm CET/12pm PST/3pm EST!

Answering your questions will be my colleagues who worked hard to bring the zombie-shooting experience youโ€™ve come to love to the Quest. We are happy to answer your questions and give you a taste of whatโ€™s to come when Arizona Sunshine launches on Oculus Quest December 5th!

Something we already want to share with you is the following;

Gameplay Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YJsiKyTbcQI&feature=youtu.be

https://www.reddit.com/link/e5jjow/video/7kq6i81jze241/player

You may have seen it already, but hereโ€™s a look at the Quest version of the game! When we first started the process of building the Quest version; we actually did try porting in the Playstation models and changing some settings and press export ;). Alas, that was too good to be true, what we got was an absolute broken mess and a waste of time to optimize, so we hired more talented people to push for a proper build for the mobile Android platform and make sure the experience remained the same on Quest as it has on PCVR and Playstation VR. From our play tests, we feel the untethered experience is even more liberating than before!

THE DEVS

Now for the Vertigo Games team members who will be taking part in this AMA:
